Bestbuy has marked FACTORY UNLOCKED Moto phones down again with new Verizon and Sprint lines. Ya gotta be willing to take a hard credit pull and cancel the new line within 3 days. These deals work much better in-store!!!!! The Z3 is $99.99 and the 64gb G7 is $129.99. I've done this twice with Verizon service and have had zero problems. All you pay for is the phone and a credit card is not required. Most people are scared of these deals cuz of the hard credit pull and they can't understand that these are FACTORY UNLOCKED PHONES. You don't have to pay any Verizon fees including the activation fee if you cancel within the first 3 days. Besides purchasing the phone, you DO NOT PAY ANYTHING UPFRONT.

Q.
Guys, what do I do?
go to Best buy and buy this phone and open a new line with Verizon?
Under which plan?
How do I cancel? Will I get charged activation fees? Cancellation fees?
I am confused as to the steps?

A.
how to get the G7 for $80 (working as of 9/30/2019)

Extra $50 discount is only for G7 in store
Pick the $55 plan.
Call Verizon within 3 days to cancel.
most likely==>No activation fee or cancellation fee.

if u dont want to talk with V rep. simply port out to cancel

This isn't a new deal... I've done two of the Z3 Play's over the last few weeks. A few things to note:

1) BestBuy is in new iPhone hell at the moment... if you have any issues it takes a ton of time to get things fixed (if you order online). Their service is great once you get someone, but it does take a while. Do this instore if you can.

2) If you do it online, they pre-activate the phone before shipping. This means you have no time to cancel the phone before being charged. I got one phone on day 4, so they billed me a $12 prorated charge when I cancelled. Easy enough to have removed by calling them, but you do have to do it. That said, cancellation via Verizon online chat was simple.

3) The phone is a very good mid-range phone. For 95% of the people out there, it will be more than enough. Quite fast, camera is good, wifi and bluetooth are solid. Almost no Motorola software installed.

4) You're going to want a case. Like all glass bodied phones, it's quite slippery.

5) Fingerprint reader is on the right side. Good location but takes some getting used to as it's where the power button is on many phones.

6) No headphone jack, USB-C only.

7) It ships with Oreo... took quite a while to do all of the Android security updates and the Pie upgrade. Adapter is included.

8) It's a hard credit pull on Experian. I view my credit score as a tool to make/save money, so worth it for me (it was a 9 point hit on 800+, so who cares).

Great info. Didn't know 9 points was a hard pull. Was thinking 4-5 at most. 9 for some1 at lower end of 800 could cause them to move to a lower credit tier.

They said they will charge Verizon Activation Fee $40.00. Is it monthly or one-time charge?

The Unlocked G7 Power for $99.00 is a decent deal too but I've never tried these Bestbuy deals with a Sprint cancellation involved. I really like my unlocked G7 Power!!!!

Wife needs a phone since dropping her Essential in the pool. Thoughts on the best choice: Z3 Play, G7 Power, or G7? A good camera is important to her. Hoping to see some Pixel deals next month, will use one of these in the meantime.

If I already have Verizon service can I just add a line to my account to get the phone and then cancel it? Will this still have a hard credit pull associated with it?
