Wonder if this sale is due to the Xfinity/Comcast thing (or maybe new gens coming out)? The ultra is a good option for Ethernet wired device & just $10 higher than bf prices. I've been happy with mine especially the Xfinity stream (knowing they'll probably squash it soon, f Comcast).

The clearance sale is because of the new gens coming out in October. The Roku website doesn't even list these models on their website anymore because they are launching the new ones. I just wonder how low will these clearance prices will go.

I think they have an updated 2019 version of the Ultra launching in October, hence the discount. order option on the roku site says "pre-order" and ship date of late october.

Good price on the Ultra but I think the 2 customizable buttons on the new 2019 Ultra remote might be worth the extra cost.

Yes, inquiring minds want to know! I am currently using 3 Roku Ultras in place of additional Comcast boxes, that's ~$30/month in savings.

they could just get rid of those 2 buttons for all I care. You just simply hit the home button then select the next app you want. I don't even know off-hand what the 2 buttons on my various Ultras are for. To each their own of course.

It's supposed to be a streaming box they're giving away for free for their customers with only an internet package thru Xfinity. I think it's gonna be limited on what it can stream. Like Xfinity on demand and possibly a few other services. I will never trust Comcast/Xfinity though

Premiere+ and Ultra only ones worth getting, those has the remote to control TV power and volume.

Requires renting their xFi modem afaik.. always a catch with Comcast.

Premiere+ has 4K and HDR, but has lower wireless speeds (b/g/n). Not a big deal if you have strong 2.4GHz wireless in your house.

Streaming Stick HD is only 1080p, but has better wireless signal (a/b/g/n/ac dual-band) 2.4GHz & 5GHz. Some also prefer this form factor for traveling.
