I just noticed this evening I was being charged a $1.00 "bag fee" when I attempted to order items on the Target app for in-store pick-up. I've never been charged this fee before and was wondering if this is something new? In case it is, I thought I would put the information out there for everyone else. Does anyone have any further information about this? I couldn't find an announcement or additional information online.

Possibly California only?

Some cities have ordinances that require a charge for them.

The fee is $0.10 so a $1 is quite a markup

Sounds like something one of those lunatic states would do. Are you in California or Washington State?

California. I use in-store pick up about once a week (most recently a few days ago) and this is the first time this charge has popped up.

California is a beautiful place to live, Yea Malibu, but you do have lots of fees and taxes.

Just checked and same thing. I'm in California. This is a little overboard. The convenience of pickup just went away.

That one item I need that is $4 is now $5 because of a bag I don't need. If I go in the store and get it myself with my bag it costs $3.95.

Seems more like a service charge hidden as a bag fee.
