SlickdealsForumsHot DealsDisney Movie Insiders: Rewards Now Available ~ Disney eGCs ($5 for 500 pts, $25 for 2200 pts, $50 for 4400 pts, $100 for 8500 pts) + More
They're the ones highlighted in the thread title and actually represent better values than when the Disney GCs were available for redemption on the DMR site (550 points for $5, 1100 points for $10) at a valuation of 110 DMR points per $1 Disney.
The valuation of the highlighted eGCs are 100 points/dollar for some of the $5 eGCs, 88 points/dollar for the $25 and $50 eGCs, and 85 points/dollar for the $100 eGC.
Well not such a smooth transition. First my password wouldn't work, not that big a deal. Second, in my points history, it shows 0 points for the last 3 times I saw The Lion King through Fandango. My account shows as linked to Fandango, has been for years. So now I gotta contact them, wonderful.
Looking at the list, it seems like redeeming all of my DMR points for physical movies and merchandise was a wise thing. So they have slightly better prices on gift cards, but I'm not seeing any movies above.
Fortunately I took my point balances down near 0 on both accounts, and I have no reason to log in because I don't have any more "magic codes" to redeem until I buy more (overpriced) Disney movies, so I don't know if or when I'll bother to use the new and apparently worse site.
There is a saying I like that "all good things must come to an end or change for the worse". This DMR to DMI change is another shining example of the latter (change for the worse) because most companies/people are greedy and will alter good deals until they aren't very good any more.
