Good deal. Even though it's already mixed 50/50 you're hard pressed to find full strength for $10/gal.

This is no better then buying the regular concentrated SuperTech antifreeze for $10 at WalMart.

In the old days it was almost impossible for a regular diyer to empty the radiator/engine block completely of fluid. So if you started with diluted antifreeze you'd never get to the correct 50/50 mixture.

Add about $1.00 for a gallon of distilled water to mix with the concentrated antifreeze. This alone makes the Peak antifreeze a better deal, not to mention the added convenience of the Peak being ready to go straight out of the bottle with no mixing required.

I've never bothered to use distilled water and it hasn't made a difference yet. And my cars are all over 20 years old and no issues.

Thank you random guy on the internet. I will follow all of your advice vs the manufacturer suggested practices.

There's a reason they recommend distilled - any dissolved solids in your water will wear away at engine components and parts will rust faster.

If anyone wants to do this deal, I recommend you first phone the store you intend to go to. I was 0 for 2 yesterday. First store was not participating in Ace rewards, and the item was not even on sale (deal is 11.99 regular, 7.99 sale, 4.99 with rewards card). Second store did not even carry this item.

Ace Hardware stores are independently owned and operated, and there is not the level of consistency you might expect from a big brand like this.

EDIT - I found the answer to this issue today:
Order online for in-store pickup. Peace
This thread clearly says in-store only. But ordering online for store pickup does give you the 4.99 price on the checkout page, as long as you are logged in with your rewards account. No guesswork or research this way.
