I have two of them, and for $100 bucks you can't beat the features for regular work. It isn't a gaming monitor, and was never intended to be.

From what I know about Dell Monitor's naming schemes, this came out in 2011 or 2012. The "12" of the U2412 stands for 2012 and the "24" is the screen size.
Dell still manufactures them due to the fact that it is a a very good monitor. You can't find anything in this price range with the features of this monitor (16:10 aspect ratio, 90 degree pivot for large documents, and very good color reproduction).
Who pays regular price?

They only give the height of the monitor with the stand. Could you possibly tell me what the height of this monitor is since you own one please?
The height is adjustable. Measured from the desktop, the top of the monitor can be set so that it is between 15 3/4" and 20" from the desktop.
However, if you are asking about the dimensions of the display panel itself, it is 14 1/4" tall by 21 7/8" wide (from outside edge to outside edge of monitor bezel).
I have two of these bought about 5 years ago. Very solid and great monitor -- I agree you won't find anything near this quality at this price. Totally different from the $89 "specials" on low-end 16:9 monitors that people usually ask about when this deal comes up.
