Not to hijack this thread but you can stop paying amazon for books by accessing your local libraries online access to Libbby. Through Libby, you can get all of the books on your Ipad or portable device. I learned about this a couple of years ago and have stopped paying amazon for best sellers (usually go through about a book per week x $10 per kindle book).

Yes, you may have to wait a few weeks for the most popular books but there are tricks you can do to always have a book to read....

Is this another one of the "unauthorized" books where some company took older work and re-wrote it into a new format? There was a history of this happening to his work.

[EDIT]Seems it was published by his children after his death, collecting works. That should be OK and certainly worth it at this price. (or any price since you are getting infinite knowledge).

The thing I was referring to about an unauthorized book, or rather, it was authorized by an agreement with a publisher but he wasn't at all happy about it, was about 20-30 years ago, after the unexpected success of ABHoT.

I can't seem to find the confirmation of which it was I was thinking of; I believe it was "A Briefer History of Time."

Excellent book with warnings to humanity about our own potential end as a species if we don't stop our headlong dive into extinction. Fitting reprise to a long career from a genius who helped bring science to the masses.

Awesome deal. Thanks, OP. Didn't know about this book, but I loved a Brief History of Time and it reminds me that I still need to read The Grand Design that's been sitting on my shelf for far too long.
