The bundle is the best deal for this laptop:

https://www.walmart.com/co/Motile...nxGuXylxw0

Comparing the R3 to the R5...

Double the RAM, double the SSD, 30% faster CPU, 50% faster GPU. Worth it for $100? Your choice.

You can return the backpack and mouse for additional savings of ~$75, effectively making the laptop at the price points of $239 or $339.

The weight of this laptop is underrated. It's lighter than pretty much every mainstream 14" laptop, and possibly lighter than most 11" 2 in 1 tablets. If weight is your main concern, the Motile laptop is an excellent choice.

Battery life of this laptop is anywhere from 4 hours to 9 hours. AMD Ryzen doesn't throttle as well as Intel. The HDMI port is full size and outputs 4K60Hz@4:4:4 easily thanks to the integrated VEGA 8 graphics.

I do not think there's a better deal for the price to weight to performance ratio you can get from this laptop. The HP from Costco comes close but it is quite heavy and made out of plastic rather than magnesium alloy.

This thing also has a freakin' front IR camera, employing Windows Hello verification technology for super fast logins. It's very similar to the Lumia 950/950 XL and it works with glasses.

My 14" Acer Swift 1 SF114-32 (1080p IPS, N5000, 4GB RAM, 64GB eMMC) weighs 2.87 lbs and it is most definitely a budget laptop! It also has an aluminum chassis, totally silent fanless design, and 12 hour battery life.

This laptop's specs for $300-400 seems pretty slick to me for a "budget" laptop.

You're hating on this computer with nothing to back up your claims, fear mongering and blatant attempt at spreading false information.

Walmart has one of the best return policies on laptops I have ever delt with. If you don't like the product, just return it before the end of the return period which is usually 14 days. There's no restocking fee, no issues as long as you have your receipt and original packaging. And that's plenty of time to decide if it's worth keeping or not.
Okay first impression is it looks nice to me. I like the design as it's not trying to be another Apple clone. It's slim and it is indeed very lightweight! It looks functional and not over the top. I chose the black color and it's looks more like a dark gunmetal grey. I wanted white keys on black color, I like it.

Port selection is very good imo, plenty of connectivity for external devices. Full size Gigabit Ethernet port is there and so is a USB 2.0 micro SD card reader for expansion however the card does not sit flush and sticks out. The USB-C port does NOT charge the laptop and it does not output display! It seems this is a data ONLY USB-C port.

The included power supply is rated at 65W. The exhaust fan vent is at the rear of the laptop and the intake vents are on the bottom. The HDMI port outputs a maximum of 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz however on my TCL 4k tv the image doesn't align properly so I'll have to play around with that later. 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz works perfectly!

To me the FHD IPS display is more than adequate and looks quite nice. It has very good viewing angles. It has a matte finish and is very slim with very thin bezels all around. The display gets bright enough for indoor use and I don't intend on working outdoors or in direct sunlight so I don't see any issues with brightness. The display comes with a "Tuned By THX Color Profile". If wobbled with enough force the display will move on it's hinge otherwise it does not seem like an issue holding it in place. The display does not open to a full 180 degrees, more like 165 degrees. No touchscreen! Also, you CANNOT open the lid with one finger.

The keyboard does not feel mushy to me. I think it's got okay depth and feedback. It's going to take a little bit to get use to it but otherwise seems fine to me. I like the font they used on the keys, the fact that the keys are white on black and the backlight has two brightness levels with a fade-in and fade-out effect. The backlight is evenly lit and does not appear to suffer from too much light bleeding.

The infrared camera unlocks the laptop very fast even in pitch black environments. Sound from the 3.5mm headphone jack seems quite good. Speakers are bottom firing and very typical of this class of thin and light laptops. They're decently loud and would be fine for brief use in most cases.

My unit has the R5-3500U, SSD 23.7GB used 214GB free out of the box, 2.1GB hardware reserved out of 8GB (5.94GB usable) and Windows 10 Home 64-bit 1903 18362.267.

The laptop can run in "Silent Mode" on battery saver and is completely silent (fan off) and a little warm to the touch while watching YouTube videos.

SSD is SSM28256GPTCB3B-S112612. RAM is Goodkey ...

The BIOS displays two SATA ports and two NVME controller ports. Not much else of interest to look at in there.

My home scale reads it as 2.4 lbs but I know that's not accurate.

Motile phone support number is (800)379-3820.

IMO, for $300 for the R3 model plus the backpack and Bluetooth mouse bundle is going to make a lot of kids and adults happy! Not bad.

I'm going to build a big post with more details, pictures, tests and other findings probably on Reddit later on but for now I can try to answer questions here.
Ryzen 3 version is only $299. I can't find any reviews or even a video of it. If it's really 2.55 lbs I would be all over it.

You can even bundle it to get a free laptop bag and mouse! In the bundle configuration you can choose colors.

Also concerning is no tech support site showed in my searches. So where would you get updated BIOS or drivers?

This is an nice deal. Motile is Walmart's new house brand, apparently. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Wal...924.0.html

I don't know how good their warranty support is, and the photos do not show a vent, so it's probably venting out the rear. Good specs for the money though.

What's the chance that it's an aluminum unibody?

100% chance, according to the news release:

"The laptops run Windows 10 and include integrated graphics, a magnesium aluminum chassis, and a thin bezel design, each with a travel-optimized keyboard."

There is no mention of a touchscreen by Walmart, Motile, or THX listed anywhere. A customer review looks like it says this does NOT have a touchscreen:

"Better than youd expect

The new walmart laptop brand is nicer than I expected. Very similar in style to a dell latop. What I dont think about this laptop is no touch screen, the sound comes from the bottom of the laptop and the font of the keys is weird. Other than that a decent laptop for the price.

Weight sounds like BS, no 14" budget laptop can be 2.55lbs. the listed specs are NOT verified by Walmart. This is a scam the laptop maker is pulling, they are a no name brand and are clearly lying to make more sales. BUYER BEWARE.

None this is budget trash.
