These worked great when my basement flooded. Soaked up a ton of water and dried out flat ready to use again. Only reason I threw them out is the cat decided to test the absorption coefficient of urine...
Regular price @ Walmart is not 40 bucks as shown, maybe closer to $30. (I can't recall), but this is a very good price. If you don't know about this stuff, I can tell you---it works well. Down here in lower SC, we have had a time w/ rain/flooding/hurricanes. I used it around outbuildings, and, for sure, it does create a dam (easiest/quickest way to inflate it is to keep soaking it in a 5-gal. or larger bucket). Have some of these in my closet when & if needed again (company says has 5-year shelf life if unopened, but I'd almost wager it's a conservative statement). Consider it insurance and hope you don't need it. Repped.

These are rather handy things.

I'll only say that they are basically single use items. Technically you can dry them out, but I don't know if I'd trust them a second go. And they of course don't shrink down to initial size so storing dried used ones takes more room.

Did you bother to read the product description above? Seems to explain it pretty well.

Like a diaper soaks up the water then diverts the remaining water away

At 17ft long this would work well in front of a garage. Just not sure how tall it gets. From the photos looks like you just keep stacking.

Wondering if these work better than hydro dams, where you just fill with a water hose?

Could I put one of these around my furnace just in case my basement had minor flooding? It would be nice if it could be there and use the flood water to inflate itself.
