Always need to consider the transfer fee for balances transfers, and should be included in this post.

"There is a balance transfer fee of either $5 or 3% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater."
EDIT FROM MAY 2021-- THIS POST IS TWO YEARS OLD. THE CARD IT MENTIONS IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE TO BE OPENED.

PLEASE STOP REPLYING TO A TWO YEAR OLD POST WONDERING WHY YOU CAN NOT FIND THIS SPECIFIC CARD/DEAL ANYMORE.

Chase Slate is only 15 months but 0% balance transfer fee.

The slate itself sucks as a card to actually use for anything other than the BT, but if you're mainly concerned about the BT, and the 3 extra months won't kill you, it saves you 3% of however much you're transferring over this... plus once you're done with the BT you can product change it into a genuinely useful card like a Freedom or something.
After years of being on airline miles cards I switched to this card. I am very happy with it. Airline miles are worth an average of 1.3 cents per dollar spent these days. This card is worth 2 cents per dollar to me as a shopper. It takes VERY little effort to redeem the 2% cash back. I enjoy the value and simplicity of this card. I find the citi web site and mobile app to be stronger than alternative bank sites and apps. I don't have the time or desire to manage multiple cards.

Chase is far more conservative with their credit lines than Citi. You may get no fee with the Slate, but they might only give you a credit line on $5,000.
I think it totally depends on the income and credit history - usually the banks / card issuers have a formula on how to calculate based on income and liabilities (outstanding debt). I know that Chase is also issuing credit lines of > 25,000

Just did it. Needed a new card anyway and got a nice credit limit, and 0% balance transfer. Perfection. Thanks for this!

any sign up bonus offer? I have fidelity card that offers 2% cashback as well and had good sign up bonus few years ago but requires fidelity account. Looking to switch back to some other banks with 2% flat cash back but good sign up bonus.

Does this card ever have sign up or referral bonuses? Been looking for a new card but want to wait for a promo.

Been using my category cards and my Chase Freedom Unlimited 1.5% on every thing else. Feel like I'm missing out on an extra 0.5%!

Another option is the Navy Federal Platinum card - I just got approved a couple weeks ago. The current offer is 12-months 0% interest on balance transfers with no transfer fee. Also, there is no annual fee and my interest rate is 14.37%. You may be able to do better on the APR if your FICO score is higher than mine - the rates range from 7.74%-18.0%.

Also wanted to add that when I have called customer service, the experience has always been excellent. I definitely can't say that about a few others.

What was your FICO score at the time of applying?

I received an offer for $50 back after spending $500 in 3 months, through an email invitation earlier this year.

This is tricky card only cash back is for purchase not every transaction I used it for while IMO Chase Freedom Unlimited is better choice 1.5% on every transaction.

Can anyone please answer these questions

1- When does this deal expire? I couldn't find the deal expiry date.

In the process of buying a house and cant apply for new credit until closing

2- When they say 0% for 18 months, does it mean if we make a purchase now for 10K and don't pay off the complete amount in 18 months, they will charge interest for it retroactively from the time of the purchase? OR they will start charging interest on the remaining balance from the 18th month onwards?

I had purchased some stuff on a jcpenny store card and they said if we don't payoff within the 18months, they will charge interest on the whole amount from day 1. I want to make sure it is not the case with this too.
There doesn't seem to be an expiration date but they can change terms at any time.

0% for 18 months means your entire balance must be paid off before the 18 months or they will retroactively charge you interest for the FULL amount, regardless of what you paid.

Paypal is a joke. you cant use that at costco or stop and shop. and amazon can easily cost up to 3 times more than competitors like walmart and target. a majority of my purchases every month is groceries. US Bank Cash Plus card gives me 5% back on 2 categories i choose with $2000 quarterly cap.

I use Citi Double Cash Back for large purchases mostly. I think its a good card from Citi. Avoid the travel cards from Citi though, IMO. If you shop through the citi portal, the flights / hotels are more expensive thus its pointless that the points are worth 1.25% more. Plus many hotels are not even listed in their portal.

I also have Discover, Chase Freedom, AMEX Blue and the Chase Sapphire Reserve. This covers everything. Im always getting at LEAST 2% back.

What do you use for your daily purchases then?
