Curious as to how you are able to convince them of the $35 per price, show them the brickseek page?
you dont do any convincing. If brickseek page shows the price, when you purchase in that store, they will ring up for that price. Since the store dont have it in stock, order online and pick up in store. Here you have two options - one is you tell them price changed and i need price adjusted and ask them to cancel the order after they help you to take to one of the registers and buy it as the pick up location in walmarts dont have registers. Another option is pick your order, walk to custormer service and tell them that you want price adjustment . they refund and resell. Again i would say getting the chances are may be 50/50. If someone experienced CSR was there, they know what you are trying to do and can deny reselling it from the store.

Keep checking up on Brickseek. The stores that have them in stock but price haven't dropped yet, eventually it will. That's how I got my set.

That sucks. Did you ask to speak to a manager? I would've asked what they were going to do with the return. If they are going to put it back on the shelf for the clearance price why not just sell it to you would've been my argument.

Yes - asked to talk to manager and she called Walmart.com. They said $35 is a mistake and they can't adjust price. I asked if I can return those and rebuy them from right there - whatever is the price (I heard her talking on phone that it rang $35 on her computer)... she said theses are not going back to shelve at all... going to claims dept... which I did not catch completely but I said whatever... I tried and it did not work out...

They wouldn't let me do a return/re-buy either (Bought at another store for regular price and tried to return/re-buy at the sale store). They told me they would end up back on the shelf, but the manager wasn't willing to approve the return so I could do the re-buy right then. I returned them, came back a few hours later, and they were back on the shelf. The empty cart they used to truck them back to sporting goods was still sitting right next to them. I loaded them back up in the same cart and bought them for the clearance price.

It may be worth checking the inventory again to see if they actually did put them back in stock. Brickseek said "Out of Stock" before I returned them. Then it went to "Limited Stock" a few hours later.

Nice, that's what I thought would happen. I figured either they would go back on the shelf or an employee would end up buying them for the clearance price. There's only one store in my area that had it for the clearance price but it's not closeby that's why I haven't attempted what you did.

I also tried the order online and send for pick-up at a sale store. They said they can match price only if I can bring the dumbbells from their store's shelves. Obviously they were sold out as they are everywhere for the $35 price and they said they couldn't help then. When I asked where the online ordered dumbbells would go, they said that online inventory is separate from the department inventory and would probably be sent back to the original location. I got a refund and tried the other method.

I went to non-sale store got a pair of dumbbells for $135 each. I then went to a sale store and ask for a refund and re-purchase. This time I didn't mention that they were sold out and acted like they still had it at their store. When she asked if they were the same items they had in the store I said yes. She refunded it to me and then scanned the items right there. She was apprehensive at first because the refund amount was $260 and now the purchase price was somewhere near $70. I think she was about to get her manager but I just told her I bought them before the clearance and now it's on clearance. I think it's best not to get a manager involved and make it seem like it's a normal "refund and re-purchase" as possible.

edit - I should mention the non-sale store had the bench for $35 so keep an eye out for those just in case!

Just got 2 for $35 each. Ordered them online at $139 but did store pickup to a store that showed the $35 price on brickseek. Picked up order and had to wait a few mins for the order to process then went up to the return desk and told them the price changed on these and that I'd like to return and rebuy. The associate scanned them, issued me a refund then rescanned them for me to buy and they came up at $35 each. Also checked the back of the store and saw they had the stand and I brought that up to the checkout and it scanned in at $30! Deal is definitely still available for anyone still thinking about purchasing. Thanks OP.

Wow you got lucky. Most of the time they just wouldn't let you rebuy the item
