I zoomed into the photo on the HD site and took a screenshot. I see Metric and SAE markings on the tool trays next to every socket. Hope this helps.

Got the item today. Looks really nice. Love the case. Really bulky and heavy though.

Man if i didn't have a slightly smaller kit I'd be all over this. Simply for the box and how its organized.

At the moment I don't know... I actually bought the Costco deal online (back-ordered) then canceled because my local Costco has plenty of them... then I found this one. Order this one because of the box and it will have additional deep well sockets and believe it might have some for 1/2 while the Costco one has none. Plus some have stated the Costco deal was no go because of no quick-release ratchets... personally I rather not have a quick-release yet I do like. I had the quick-release button hit at times while working on the car that causes the socket to go when I didn't want it to. It must be a kit built for certain retailers because I couldn't find on any other sites as I wanted to know sockets included.

I like that you still get the whole top compartment to add your own relevant accessories to the kit. This might be my own personal, mythical "the one".

Correction: METRIC SIZES apparently are included. It's a bit of a mystery set because the contents are not posted anywhere. Home Depot website only mentions SAE, but I stand corrected if the photo of the box shows metric sizes. I can't see the larger pic on my phone and the kit is not listed on the Dewalt website. The socket wrenches have quick release, so better than the Costco kit, but that and the tool box are the main pluses. Yet at $70 more than Costco, it only has 8 combination wrenches, meaning only 4 SAE and 4 metric. This is a better socket kit than the Costco offering, but lacks as many combination wrenches for a mechanics set.

The layout and quality of the box look nice, and the 6pt sockets are nice to have but 83 pieces of cheap filler items (55 hex bits and 28 Allen wrenches) are a bummer for a supposed "mechanics" set.

Mechanics, at least those that work on modern equipment, frequently need allen wrenches and a variety of driver bits. That's the difference between plain old socket sets and mechanics sets.

Also, this set is both SAE and Metric. The picture of the back of the box shows the contents.

I totally agree, in fact I am an industrial mechanic and on the rare occasion when I need a bit, I have a nice set of impact ready bits I use. We also use hex key allen wrenches but these days primarily use hex key sockets instead (time is money). The point wasn't that these tools are totally out of place in this set, It's just that almost everyone on the planet already has a bit set and in general it's frustrating to see these type of sets piece count be inflated by cheap filler items (83 of them).
