Man if i didn't have a slightly smaller kit I'd be all over this. Simply for the box and how its organized.
I came here to make the same comment. Super slick box. It would be better if they had the ratchets with the associated sockets on the same shelves but the fact that they give you space for additional tools and how the tools sit in the drawers versus being held in place by a blow molded case is way better than what else I have seen. The box itself is also high quality and not that blow molded crap... I can tell if the same holds for the shelves but it doesn't matter.

Just bought it for the hell of it. Will compare with the Costco deal and probably return one of them. Missed out on a few Dewalt deals already.

Looks like Dewalt is discontinuing it for an easier access model:

Does anyone have this? Is it a pain removing the trays to get to a certain socket versus drawers?

Thanks for the info, but the new one does not seem to be compatible with tough systems. I prefer the one posted by OP, just because of the box.

Pull out drawers are obviously easier than taking four trays out and laying them all over your work space. That being said I still like the ruggedness of the ToughBox System

Where do you see that this is being discountinued? As far as I can tell, this set just hit the market. The questions on the HD sight and other online references are all from the last couple days/weeks. Though the HD reviews go back several years, they appear to be for a different product.

Hey kids, you can get the 227 piece kit with the drawers for the same price at tractor supply. [tractorsupply.com]

The choice is yours, but I think neither of these boxes are a good solution for sockets on a job site.

The tough box is awesome for bulky tools or items in blow mold cases but having three loose socket trays is a terrible idea. You will have to explode your tools out over a large area grab a tool. And eventually you will try to balance one of these trays where you shouldn't and your tools are going to spill everywhere.

And the "new" model has a bad review that says:

☆☆☆☆☆1 out of 5 stars. · 2 years ago
Unusable
I bought this because all of my tools are Dewalt. The tools are fine. The case is not. When you open this case all the tools fall out. This makes the tools unusable because you have to pick up each tool from wherever it fell. No time for this on a job site.

✘ No, I do not recommend this product.

Post back... curious which you think is better. I went with this and thinking it's better than the Costco one because I'm thinking it includes 1/2 deep, but can't tell for sure.

Has anyone considered comparable Husky mechanic sets with the no-questions lifetime replacement warranty? They are believed to be manufactured by Stanley. You can return any broken tool to Home Depot for direct replacement. Like the Dewalt kits, they are made in China. The 270-piece Husky set includes a tool box with pull out drawers for $149. The 230-piece set comes with carrying case for $99. Both tick more features than similar Dewalt deals posted so far. Any direct experience comparing Husky design and quality to Dewalt?

I have a smaller 30 piece set that I bought for quick project from Husky. Love the product. I would go with the Husky set if I wasn't keeping all my other tools and set with Dewalt. For the same price, I would do the Husky. Review seems fine for the case but the Dewalt lets you storage other stuff. I like the dewalt case better...or based one the pics. Might end up buying the Husky and comparing it. It looks like both of these seem better then the Costco deal. ut depends on what you need.
