I don't post often so forgive me if I made some kind of terrible error. Amazon deal of the day for macbook air 2018. "Amazon Renewed" So I'm assuming open box or returned item. Looks like the only major difference between 2018 and 2019 model is that 2019 has true tone display which you won't get with this one. Still the discount looks steep enough to warrant a good deal.

I order off Woot quite a bit. Most items listed as "amazon renewed" are basically used items. Most have been in very poor condition requiring refund/return. It is better to wait for Woot to do a deal where they sell MacBook Airs that are directly refurbished by Apple themselves. These deals pop up often. They advertise that they don't come with an Apple warranty but I've had no issues getting Apple to add Applecare+

Laptops with 128 GB storage should be banned especially when the phones from the same company have 512 GB storage.

Not really, for a school or light work laptop this does the job, if you need storage for personal data usb stoarge is super cheap these days and 128g is way more than enough for MacOS and your typical MS apps...as good as the ipad is with IOS 13.0 is still not quite there yet. Why phones have that much memory is beyond me, like i doubt anyone uses much more than 64gb on a phone.

I agree with you but 128 GB is just not enough. I have a MacBook Pro myself and I have to make huge compromises on what programs I have installed. I regret that I did not pay a bit more for 256 GB. Sure you could store it all on an external HDD or cloud, but this shouldn't be a compromise if you spend over $900 on a laptop. YMMV though ;-)

I took a chance on this deal and bought 3 of these. As it turns out, to my relief, all 3 arrived today in brand new condition, completely sealed and packaged in the Apple original packaging with the Apple charger - looking every bit as brand new at the Apple store... Ran diagnostics, battery at first cycle, so really new. I am glad I took that chance. $869 for the 256GB + $139 for a 4 year Assurion accidental damage and repair warranty, not bad in my view.
