Your free Echo Auto awaits
Because Nationwide cares about our members, we've created the Nationwide skill for Amazon Alexa and are offering you an Echo Auto device at no cost.
Echo Auto lets you make the most of your time in the car. Echo Auto connects to Alexa using your phone, is ready in seconds and plays through your car speakers. Use your voice to play music, check the news, find the nearest gas station and more. Also, take advantage of the Nationwide skill for Amazon Alexa.
Personally I'm a Google Assistant dude, so this will make its way to eBay. Still a nice free score.
Thanks for the heads up! Apparently Nationwide sent me an e-mail about this a month ago, and I assumed it was junk and didn't even open the e-mail. Only took about 30 seconds to order my free Echo Auto.
It is not targeted. If you have nationwide insurance you are eligible to get one. Also you can get quote for car insurance and get one
Thank you. Where do you see the ability of receiving one with just a quote? I looked around on their site but couldn't find it. Can you please send me a link.
Thank you
I think I found what you were referring to:
"Special Provisions
No insurance purchase or renewal is required in Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, or Virginia. Residents of these states are eligible to receive a Device if they purchase, renew, or obtain a quote for a Nationwide auto insurance policy during the Promotion Period. To receive a Device based on a quote, you must fully complete the quote for the eligible auto insurance product; meet the eligibility requirements to complete the quote; and accurately provide all valid information and consents necessary to complete the insurance quote process. Receipt of a Device does not guarantee that Nationwide will provide you an insurance policy. All other Terms & Conditions apply."
Sadly my state isn't listed under no purchase necessary.
Is it an email on nationwide.com account or do they send it to your personal email?
It's my account where I have most of my important stuff sent to, like insurance, mortgage, credit cards, etc. Not my junk account. But yes, it was in my email inbox.
I agree , it does not add anything to your car or your phone. That is the reason they give them out for free
I took a look at this- there's no screen, so it's basically a plain smart speaker for your car. Unless you're 100% Alexa integrated with your smart garage door or something, this is just a way for Amazon to get marketing info from your car conversations.
At least Siri and Google have screen and multi-service integration so their info gathering is useful to all parties involved. The Echo Auto seems to be a one-way street. Your phone will do everything this thing does and do it better.
