I would probably jump on this if it had a bypass option for using coffee besides what's in the bin. Thanks for sharing!

Was anyone able to get the 15% promo for signing up with the newsletter to work for this?

I wasn't even able to get a code - maybe it takes 24 hours.

I thought the Philips Carina deal at $349 was the cheapest superauto. Well, this is certainly cheaper. The Carina for $100 more may be worth it for three reasons, larger capacity requiring less refilling of water and beans, 12 grind settings v.s. 5, and as someone else mentioned the vapor doesn't have a bypass port for pre-ground coffee. Great price though. For a basic espresso it would certainly pay for itself compared to capsules.

Phillips products always do. I got the pasta maker last year and LOVE it.

Looks like a great machine at a great price. If I wasn't spoiled with Nespresso's I would probably get this for the house.

I got the Creatista deal from sur la table. No regrets. If anyone has used a real espresso machine before the maintenance involved vs a nespresso is pretty huge with little difference in quality.

I've got the old "BMW" model of which this is a descendant. Had it 10 years now, use it at least 5 times a week. Probably does more Americanos than anything fancy these days, but it's been very reliable. Had one issue with the steam valve years ago and I replaced it myself. Think I bought it for a couple hundred bucks back in 2008... Certainly can't complain about value. Tip.... use filtered water... I use a ZeroWater... Might not taste quite as good without all the minerals, but you'll never have to decalcify again and the water container will never get gross/moldy.

Actually demineralizing the water should improve flavor, by allow the water to absorb more of the coffee.

I have an Xsmall in my office (~ 2 years) and it makes decent espresso. That said, the espresso does not taste even close as good as my Vario & Silvia combo.
