Tempted but I usually find that I use these things only a handful times and then it sits like a rock in my tool bag. I wish there was a tool library which carried these things. I'd happy to be rent one for $10 instead.

How much of a wall can it penetrate through? Can this be used to pick up on electric cables, electronic devices behind the walls?

I wanted to buy the TG130 a couple years back but this TG165 is still too expensive for my tastes considering how infrequently I'll use it too.

Anyone with knowledge in this space - is there a cheaper alternative brand that people trust enough for just a regular homeowner (read: not a professional) to use around the house identifying air leaks/drafts?
