AARP Membership (regularly $16 / year) Black Friday Sale

Includes second membership for another person "in your household"

Black Friday Price: 2 years membership with autorenew (can be cancelled), $20 up front.

Also option for buying 1 year membership with autorenew (can be cancelled), $12 up front.

Also option for buying 5 years membership (no autorenew), $50 up front.

Any age can join AARP. You do not need to be retired or above any certain age. There are plenty of 20-something year olds that take advantage of AARP savings.

AARP Benefits: https://www.aarp.org/benefits-discounts/

Some savings AARP users get:

15% off at Denny's
  • Cannot be combined with other discounts
  • If paying 1 year, spending $80 during year at Denny's breaks even
  • If paying 2 years, spending $66.67 each year ($133.33 during both years) at Denny's breaks even
  • If paying 5 years, spending $66.67 each year ($333.33 during all five years) at Denny's breaks even
10% off (excluding alcoholic beverages) at:
  • Bonefish Grill
  • Bubba Gump Shrimp Co
  • Carrabbas
  • Chart House
  • Corner Bakery Cafe
  • Joe's Crab Shack
  • Landry's Seafood
  • Landry's Restaurants
  • McCormick & Schmicks
  • The Oceanaire Seafood Room
  • Outback Steakhouse
  • Rainforest Cafe
  • Saltgrass Steak House
The 10% break-even point is:
  • Buying 1 year @ $12: $120 spent
  • Buying 2 years @ $20: $200 spent in 2 years (or $100 per year)
  • Buying 5 years @ $50: $500 spent in 5 years (or $100 per year)
I also saved $10 on an online Driver's Safety Course (for insurance reduction for 3 years) using AARP membership. Driver's Safety Courses vary from state to state, so comparison shop. Note: I found that using promo code WNTT didn't subtract off of my total until I unchecked "AARP Member", added the code, and then re-checked "AARP Member", and it gave me both discounts. https://www.aarpdriversafety.org/ [aarpdriversafety.org]

There is also 5% off UPS Store shipping and 15% off mailbox rentals. If you have a mailbox rental (and don't already use AAA for a 15% discount), then this alone will pay for your membership.

A lot of other discounts on:
  • Hotels
  • AT&T Cellular on qualified plans (10%)
  • Consumer Cellular (5%)
  • Auto Service, Auto Insurance, and Roadside discounts
  • Regal Concessions ($3 off popcorn and soda combo)
  • Regal ePremiere Tickets (20% off)
  • Flights, Cruises, Car Rentals
  • Prescriptions

Denny's isn't so bad. They brought back the Super Slam for $5.99 (that includes 5 items). But I love their crazy spicy skillet for $10.

The nearest Denny's I know about is 2 states away, but there is an IHOP close by. I should have added IHOP.

These "deals" often come up daily via email, regular mail, or on the site and also includes free items or sometimes an extra random benefit. Not a slick deal.

AAA isn't associated with AARP.

Edit: Saw your edit. The site says you can extend your membership.

The Mothers Day deal for 2 year membership posted here was for $25. No other deals were posted since.

I haven't seen Geico. AARP has their own auto insurance for members. You could see if they are cheaper.

Or, if you have a few spare hours to take their EASY online drivers course, I got a $10 discount and paid $20 instead of $30. By law, all insurance companies have to give you a discount for 3 years. In my state, it's 10% off liability, no fault, and collision.

That $10 discount on the course paid for half of my 2 year membership already.

I noticed. I looked it up. 34 states (and DC) mandate insurance discounts.

Those states are Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, DC, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming.
