Starbucks is offering their refill tumbler for $40 for 2020 similar to the prior years. It includes free dripped coffee every day in January, if you used it every day it would cost you $1.29 per day.

Technically it's supposed to be one/day but they don't scan anything so . . .

These special mugs sell out quickly

Nope. Just regular brewed coffee or tea that normally cost about $2 for tall.

This is only a real deal if you go to Starbucks every day or get the mug on clearance. I got one of these for $10 on clearance a few years back and it was OK at that price.

I know this is not a "green" comment to make, but carrying around a coffee mug that I had to clean was a pain.

Even the largest coffee is $3 so $40 mug / $3 coffee = 13 days payback

If you can find it 50% off on after-Christmas clearance that would be $20 mug / $3 coffee = 6 days payback.

Not the worst deal in the world and I would buy it at $10 for sure, but at $40 no way and $20 it would still be a wash for most people.

it still doesn't seem like it is worth it to carry around and spend time cleaning the tumblr and having to wait in line. i can see how maybe if you are a regular and you know all the starbucks barista by name, they maybe can fill it with a latte instead and it can be worth it.

this is a deal even before it goes on clearance. grande is nearly $3
so for those who have starbucks as a normal daily routine--which many do, then this is a no brainer.

The only issue is you would actually have to go in and wait in line. Many esp those on the go simply preorder on the app ahead of time. Those always on the go and preordering on the app and just pick up and go, pretty much have to retrain your schedule to always make time to go in and wait, and even more so during busy hours in the mornings

Starbucks is giving away free coffee or tea for entire month of January when you buy a reusable tumbler.

Here's how it works: Once you buy the tumbler, you can bring it back to any participating Starbucks store and get a free grande brewed coffee or grande hot tea anytime during the month of January.
