Great pack, I already have the Farpoint 40 and just bought the 55 for more versatility in travel. Men's pack is really unisex in our experience. The women's is slightly smaller, different coloring, and slightly tweaked ergonomics. Technically not carryon size, but most people don't have a problem with it if removing the daypack (YMMV).

Great backpacks and an awesome price. The zip off daypack is worth $45-55 on its own. It is the perfect pack for airline travel and hiking.

For reference I own the osprey porter and daylite plus for a little more versatility but used to own the farpoint.

I've this bag which is really nice but now looking at Farpoint 40 cause it's risky with airline being strict on the carryon luggage size... if within US, it's not an issue but if u r traveling international, especially on the 2nd leg of your route which are on a relatively smaller plane, then it could be an issue... the carryon allowed is 22"x14"x9".

I have this bag and I love it, not a bad price. It is actually 40 + 15, the large one and daypack. Very useful and versatile, but can be bulky if you overpack.

Has anyone ever seen the Talon 22 or Tempest go on sale? Been waiting for those forever.

Have the 40 and I love it, it is more than enough storage for long trips.

Have the 55. Would definitely recommend looking at the 40 instead due to carry on size limitation. Missing the zip on daypack kind of sucks though

Took my Farpoint 40 to Europe for 17 days. Was the perfect size and provided enough room for everything I needed. Great carry-on size too, but too big for under the seat storage.

Had this before and traveled Asia for 6 months. At the end of it I decided it was too big and traded for a 40 liter pack. I do miss the smaller pack that separates for day trip though.

The bigger part of the pack is actually a little too long for some airline dimensions. But you can squeeze it into their size checker if need be since it's just all wires that frames the pack. I dont recommend it however. I was always sweating bullets going through.

I am a 145lb male, 5'9" and found the S/M to be too small. Go for the large one if you are around my size.
