Previously kit was $150 and now price decreased $129. I listed the products that seem to be a good price with the lowered separate cost, if you decide to not keep the battery kit.
i missed the 2 free tools deal at $99
i bought these and am waiting to open/return them
hoping a better deal (even than $129) comes back, hopefully the $99 again- but prob wont

at these prices, i prob wont bother to return them and then repurchase on this newer deal
price difference is too small
I'm in the same boat. Bought the brushless recip saw and 2 3ah battery kit for $150. Gonna return today and buy again, or see if they'll do a price adjustment
Quick tip - if you are purchasing with the intent to return - suggest you ship the item you want and select pick up in store for the item you don't. When not picked up for a few weeks, HD will cancel the order; saving you a trip to the service desk

Last year they had a Ryobi deal for a 3-tool kit plus two free tools that started out around $259 and dropped all the way to $159. So there's a decent chance this deal will drop further tool.
Anybody have both the 6.5" and this brushless 7 1/4" circular saw that can comment if it's worth the upgrade? I don't have any of the HP+ batteries (but may down the road). I use the 6.5" mainly for breaking down sheet goods when I don't want to deal with the cord on my 7 1/4" Skil worm drive circ saw. My current one works ok but I tend to reach for the corded saw on thicker goods (even 3/4") for fear of the small one bogging down :-). I guess I don't trust it and don't like not being able to swap same-sized blades. After initial breakdown, I move on to my table saw for most additional cuts.

The 7-1/4" brushless circular saw is a big improvement, especially with a Diablo blade. The 6-1/2" will bog down and stall, whereas the 7-1/4" powers through.
The battery kit in this deal includes HP batteries, made for brushless tools.
There are a couple of YouTube videos demonstrating the differences and performance of the saws.

with the new batteries designed for brushless, the 7 1/4" brushless saw is a beast
way better than the craftsman 6.5 " one that i had before, which is the same as the ryobi one (both made by TTI)

Cool, thanks, I'll see if I can find the comparison videos! I do have the 6.5" diablo blade so it does pretty good—never bogged down on me. But just like cars, I always want more power!
pass on it, unless cordless is more important to you than power. It does not have great suction and it destroys (depletes charge) batteries in minutes.
