This is way faster than a 4690k, I came from a 4.0ghz 4770k to this and it's a big leap. Better IPC and 2 more core, 4 more threads.
Should have said gaming then, not charts. And even in gaming, most would not call 10-30% better performance "nominally better".
Ryzen 3000 beats Intel 9000 in IPC , but Intel has the advantage with less latency and a little higher boost clock resulting in better game performance at 1080p. Any other work load, AMD tops Intel. If you play at higher res or own anything less than the 2080ti, the gaming advantage Intel has disappears.

2700x can be had for 25% cheaper with better performance. Also not worth getting a slightly overclocked 3600x vs 3600

Performance is not better. Please tell us how? Also, if the x version is almost the same price then why not?

Very good performing CPU. AMD is certainly giving Intel a run for their money with this gen of CPUs.

Performance is definitely not better, a 3600 is on par (or better) than a 2700x. AMD has had a substantial performance boost in Zen 2.

Fair enough on the same price part. Also stand corrected it is slightly better performance. 2700x is a better deal, but 3600x has marginally better performance.

Bought this last time it hit this price. The 3600 has the best value per performance ratio on the market, but for an extra $6 you don't have to worry about OC yourself and getting a descent cooler with the 3600x.

If you need the extra 2 cores, yes. Otherwise you'll be losing out.
