Doesn't the Amazon one come with a 5ah battery?

EDIT: Nevermind, says not included.

Reviews seem pretty negative on this specific model.

Can't remember if mine is brushless or not but it works great just prepare your legs as this for some reason has the smallest shield.

I have it and cant complain for home use.

Many people who have it think a battery powered trimmer should be able to saw a tree down which is why it has a lot of bad reviews.

For a basic homeowner who needs it for trimming weeds and other small things, I'd recommend this battery powered over a higher maintenance gas powered trimmer.

The bad reviews seem to often say this is a special #4 variant with an especially poor string spool mechanism.

I have a DeWalt trimmer just like this one and the head was awful. Always knotted up on itself. I was ready to throw it in the trash but I replaced the head with a speed load head and now I love it.

I got this in the spring with a 5ah battery for $99 at HD

I've found it to be a good trimmer. Happy with mine.

Wear eye protection, small shield allows rocks to hit you in the face.

I had this with the blower/weed eater combo. I used the weed eater once in some 3 week high grass and it stripped the gear. Many reviews talked about how cheap the head is and I didn't want to chance it.

It's easy to use since you don't need gas but the balance is off. The motor head is heavy and compared to my John Deere gas trimmer it actually puts more strain in my back.

I really like the blower but the trimmer crapped out quickly and since it was a combo deal, I had to return then both.

I have the xr 13"?? model.

It is low vibration and noise.. so nice to not have numb hands.. 5ah battery lasts about as long as I do on low, or on high 15-20min or so

IT DOES NOT HAVE GAS LIKE POWER, I wouldnt use it to do heavy edging either.. used for normal house trimming its just fine or an edging touch up its good.

if you push the trimmer overly hard it can snap the line at the head and wind up inside.. (PITA)
that being said at the 100$ price range if you already have dewalt batteries.. its a decent buy.

I break out the 28cc gas monster once a month in the summer instead of weekly... thankfully.

I have this trimmer (XR verison) and love it for lawn trimming. I will say that I would prefer that it was a touch more powerful with a slightly bigger cut radius, so I definitely recommend that you get the XR as the non-XR is supposed to have even less power
