I ordered 1. When I went to Adorama directly, the price was $699. The link from this deal was $449, free shipping, no tax (NV). I am wondering why going there directly gives a different price?

These are tempting but I really didn't want to spend this much. I can get the Sennheiser 6XX from Drop for $160 or Audeze Mobius for $250 new or open box Adorama Audeze El-8 for $199. Are any of those almost as good as these Focal's? I need them mainly for audio listening but would use them for gaming about 20% of the time.

It depends on how much of an audiophile you are. Those are all good headphones. These are fantastic headphones. The differences will be about clarity, soundstage, instrument separation and factors like that. If you don't care a lot about those factors, then the price difference probably won't matter. Also, there are diminishing returns past about the $300 price point in headphones. Do they get better? Absolutely. Is it worth the price? Well, that has to do with your budget and your degree of audiophilia. Also, these Focals will require a headphone amp to fully shine while most of those others you listed will not. So are they better? Yes. Are they worth the extra price? That depends.

I like really good speakers and notice the difference. I have had a bunch of different kinds and notice the better ones. I am using Martin Logan's now. I am just getting into headphones. I don't like the sound from cheap headphones or under $100 cans. I want to try something better that I'll like long-term.
