I have the Sony Dye Sub printer which operates on same tech as this one. Sony has discontinued making the cartridges/papers so I'm stuck with a perfectly good printer that can't print anything.

Now, my local CVS charges me 33 cents per 4x6 print which is lesser than the per print cost of this one. If you set convenience aside, unless you're a heavy user, the break even price for spending the initial 90$ may never happen.

Those 90$ can buy get me ~273 prints at my local CVS and I'm pretty sure I haven't printed 1/3rd of that many with my Sony which costed me far more.

So unless you're far away from a local pharmacy/photo printer or if you're a heavy user, skip buying any photo printer (not just this one).

I remember when i was a kid my dad owned one of those Polaroid land cameras with the SX-70 film, I know this is not a camera but its still very nostalgic! i'm thinking of picking this up for him, i might have to teach him how to use it but if he can figure it out i think he's going to love it.

One cartridge can print up to 120 pics and a quick search shows the refill for both a cartridge and papers is about $46 on Amazon, I assume better deals for the refill can be had.

Getting this for nana who likes to print out the Facebook photos of the kids and family at Sam's club, this should save her some time and effort. Thanks OP!

A refill of paper & ink is $20 for 40 photos. So basically 50 cents per photo.

Actually looks pretty cool. Thought Kodak died when digital cameras came around. Nice to see how they are reinventing themselves and staying relevent. Kudos

Note that Kodak is not the same as the company before. It is just a rebrand generic printer now.

And $20 for refill cartridge (+40 sheets) which will only last 10 prints?! $2/4x6 is hefty price...

I think the question is how many photos can you print per cartridge and the cost of paper

40 sheets mean 40 prints so it's actually 50 cents per print.
