QA Edit: The price will vary by store stock, zip code or location. Price seems to only be valid if your store has it in stock. If you don't see the OP's $40 price, try another store in your area or another zip code.

The Everbilt 26 Qt. Cooler is designed for river trips, camping, and other outdoor activities. The High-Density Polyurethane Foam insulation keeps ice for 3 to 5-days, with a no-sweat design eliminating condensation on the outside of the cooler. It features Rubber Pad non-slip feet to keep the cooler secure in your vehicle or boat. An interlocking no-fall lid stays up when you're unloading the cooler and carry handles fold away for easy packing in truck or raft. For easy transportation, a stainless steel comfort grip handle is built-in. A drain release is located at the base of the cooler so you can keep melted water out of the cooler and your food.

Premium insulation keeps ice for up to 5 days
Lockable lid prevents animals from getting access to your food or adult beverages
UV resistant exterior designed for extensive outdoor use, wherever your adventures take you
T-handle latches keep the lid secure and provide a water tight seal
Rotomolded, seamless 1-piece construction makes this virtually unbreakable
Built-in pressure release button to allow air into the cooler so that it's easier to open
Internal dimensions in inches are 16.1 in. D x 9.1 in. H x 11.4 in. W

For anyone interested in information from the Manufacturer, they've responded to some people's Home Depot ratings with this information:"Please refer to the ice retention chart on the main product page of our item or listed under the info and guides section as a product brochure. As you can see, the type of ice you use and the temperature outside can change the ice retention time. For best results, we recommend using block ice and keeping the cooler out of direct sunlight."
You can also get dry ice from many Walmart locations. Call ahead to verify.

Doing the math on posted internal dimensions, this Everbilt appears to have about the same internal volume as the Yeti Tundra 35. That Yeti costs $250 and this Everbilt is $40; IMO there is no way the Yeti is 6 times better!

From what I have read, the trick with these coolers -- if you want the ice to last a long time -- is to pre-chill them the night before (using some milk jugs of frozen water) prior to loading them up for deployment.
about $200 cheaper but performs the same
Yeti is just Louis Vuitton for men. These are just as functional.

Choose different stores. As discussed all the way back on page one, the price is dependent on the store. I've even found that selecting a different store with the $40 price, then going back to my closest store, I've seen the price adjust down to $40. May have just been a coincidence on that one, but either way, most people already know that this is store-dependent.

People should also not complain about the amount of material in this cooler - it is clearly a thicker rotomolded cooler. It is similar to all the other "high performance coolers" out there. Get a regular cooler if you are worried about weight or size vs capacity.

Latch strap design is the only valid complaint in this thread.

This cooler deal cannot be beat for the market it was designed for.

Not dead. My area it was sold out everywhere and showed as $79, I switched the store to my old zip code, 2 states away and price dropped to $39 and was able to get one shipped to me for $54 after taxes and shipping.

Got one in local store this am and asked for my military discount. Store is Highland Heights, OH 44143.
Not bad deal for $35.89 plus tax. The store still has two on display near the main entrance.

Also, the mention of leaving it strapped closed in hopes of loosening the straps... not so much as they are strapped from the start as they come shipped and sit strapped until purchased. You want to loosen them up some? Manhandle the latches and attempt to over-stretch them a bit. They'll loosen up some after that. That's why they loosen up some after time, the stretching of the straps each time it's utilized.

Also noteworthy, after 2 years into owning this thing I'll bet the latches still latch tightly and keeps things cold. Notice Walmart sells, and all over the internet is sold replacement latches for the Ozark Trail cooler...

Bought one. What a deal! Looks and feels well made. The latches are a little hard to open close if it's on a table. When it's on the ground, it's easy to use leverage to pop on and off those things, but a child or someone with little strength may have problems.

I picked one up earlier this week. I own a much larger pelican cooler and wanted something more manageable for small outings or separating meat/food from drinks. This seems extremely solid and would be a nice deal even at $60-$80. The latches are very difficult to pull closed but I don't see that as a negative. I'd prefer they were challenging to shut and pulled the lid closed tight rather than loose or overly pliable.

Earlier in this thread someone said flipping over the latches (that come with it) make it easier to operate.

it actually is still 40 in some plaeces. Someone above suggested add-in from a store with stock (32256) and add it to cart.

Plenty locally at this price so I didn't try.

Got one today op. Thank you .

Latches are extremely challenging . I tried 3 or so at the store. Please reconsider if plan is to gift to retired, older person. Obviously there will be some exceptions but in addition to the latches, this is heavy WITHOUT ICE!

How are others moving this when full?
