The pliers wrench is an incredible tool, but 5in is sooo small. After handling one in the store it feels like an incredibly well-made toy
Stop talking me into this! I already have enough Knipex.

Oh who am I kidding, there's no such thing as "enough Knipex"...

Yes, it's tiny. But sometimes that is all you need and other times that is the only size that will fit in the space that you have.

Should be perfect for those tight places under a sink, behind a toilet, or in an engine bay. Nice deal on a quality tool. Thanks!

I loved knipex for many years when they first came out (30+years)... And I've never missed then since Irwin came out with the exact concept for 20% of the price. Maybe the quality is slightly different but the savings blows this away

What does Irwin call their exact same concept pliers wrench? I see nothing of the sort after a quick search.

EDIT: I have never seen anything else equivalent to the pliers wrench by any other company. Yes, Knipex makes other tools. I have 7 pairs of knipex pliers wrenches in different locations and I find them irreplaceable and more handy than I ever expected (thus having so many). The parallel closing jaw and quality machining are the key to their awesome function. I don't see anything Irwin makes that is comparable. Smooth surface inside the jaws is also important. This is basically a revision on the tranditional worm gear adjustable wrench and while it may seem a small change, the fact that you can adjust and exert even smooth pressure and then release to move position without coming all the way off the work surface with the jaws is a massive change to how they can be used. They are also much less subject to siezing from neglect like the work gear style wrench.

I'm guessing he might be referring to the Cobras ... not the pliers wrench?

general question about clicking links from others in SD, it's hard to see since SD will cut it off, and when you move your mouse over its also hard to see the actual link, but generally no problem clicking on links? no malware or malicious site etc?

I received the 5in pliers wrench by mistake when I ordered the 6in. They are indeed minuscule, but I ended up keeping them. They have much thinner jaws than the 6in and up, so they fit in very skinny spots like when taking apart air fittings. I already had the 10in and found myself trying to use them for everything, including small things in tight spaces.

If you don't have a pair at all, I recommend the 10in. But you should pick this one up at the same time, because they almost never go on sale, and they will fit in the places you wish the larger set would fit.

I have the 5 in, I don't use it often, but it comes in handy in small locations.
