Found these on clearance here in Texas yesterday. (Photo attached) They had two so I bought both of them for my boys. They are the PC version but you can buy the RIG 800HX Wireless Receiver for Xbox One to make them work with an X-box One on ebay for $10.

Can this be used for movie watching?
Is it "true" surround, ie multiple speakers within the headset? Or simulated?
Looking for nice surround sound headphones for movie watching- don't see any reason to have home theater speakers if I'm only one watching usually.

Stereo drivers with an activation code to install Dolby Atmos on a PC. Its all software manipulation.

If only the headband was standard and not that design it would be an instant buy from me.

true surround headphones dont really work since all the speakers are next to each other pointed right at your ear so you dont get directional sound anyway

While I agree with your physics, I have used some headphones that were quite amazing.

Disneyland had some sort of headset for their theater (some Lincoln show?) where I could have sworn my hair was being cut by the way it sounded.
Have been chasing comparable consumer pair ever since.

I have a pair of the Xbox version and they are the best headset I have had. Barely notice they are there and heat around earpads is not an issue like my Turtle Beach set. Sound is excellent, especially with the Atmos. I have 2 setups, and bought a second one on Friday from GameStop sale so I could have a dedicated pair for each setup. Great deal if u can find it.

Did you ever find the company that made them?

It is either the company ekids or it was made by Beats by Dr Dre.

I own these. The sound quality is decent, but the main problem is that the volume is very low. The microphone also sucks -- on my Xbox it's constantly broadcasting, and your voice will "sound like a robot" according to my kid. The Atmos part is a code that lets you use Dolby Atmos on all devices, not just one. If you buy used, you lose out on the code and have to buy it separately. Mind you you do not need these headphones to use Atmos at all. You can just use any decent quality headphones and then just enable Atmos -- Atmos is 100% software. It's good for 4K Blu-Rays, but most games are not developed for Atmos.

I can second this. Been using my pair for 2-3 years now. You can wear these puppies for hours without it hurting the side of your head. It has a dial to be able to adjust in game volume over chat as well. Very nice. Sounds amazing.
