i'm way to scared too buy one of these due to the drift issue. seems utterly insane to me that nintendo had got complaints of drift 2 yrs ago and still used the same joysticks. but only now they're built into the actual system so taking it apart yourself to fix is kind of out of the question. the idea of having to send the system back to nintendo for weeks at a time, possibly multiple times (as people have reported in the past when their various consoles have had issues), just getting the same broken thing back or having it break again before long, that sounds like a 1st world nightmare to me.
For real. I get my S pushed in anytime I mention it on the internet, but I have personally gone through 2 joycon repairs on my og switch and the only friend I know with a Lite had to send his in for the same drift issue. Anecdotal but it's enough to keep me away from this version. Nintendo fanboy force about to smash on me for this one.
I was wondering when you would show up. You posted the exact same comment in the last thread. Do you work for Nintendo? Genuinely curious. This seems to really frustrate you.

Seconded. I've had a joycon drift issue, and while the repair was free and painless, I would not want to send my whole console away for a few weeks. There would also be the possibility of my save data being wiped on top of it all.

I won't buy a system without replaceable sticks since all of them still drift.

i saw an article somewhere saying there's a class action against nintendo over this and somehow it was revealed that they are already working on an updated lite without the issue..

Oh FFS, people need to stop perpetuating this myth. There are no VERIFIABLE issues with drifting on the Switch Lite. Nintendo made a slight modification to the part that was causing the problem, so now it is IMPOSSIBLE for the sticks to make the same frictional contact with the underlying metal plate. Even the original joy-con drift issue was blown way out of proportion. This time it has already been resolved:
