I'm -in- Seattle (area) and I've been to Minneapolis in the winter. Neither strike me as desirable destinations between January and March.

If you're in Minneapolis, a trip to Seattle is usually a nice little break from a normal Minnesota Winter. Not beach weather, but you can walk around with long sleeves sans jacket.

True. Minneapolis in February can make my freezer seem toasty.

True, I live in Minnneapolis and while I love all 4 seasons winter here can be very brutal and is not a fun time for the best of Minneapolis which is the great parks and simply gorgeous, clean city during the summer and fall. (Spring is nice as well but can seem a bit dingy until the green comes and all the garbage and dirt from winter is picked up)
I highly recommend paying full price to visit during an outdoor friendly season. that said if you feel like crushing some true Nordic vibes, hit us up at the end of January. It will be an experience.
