Chase Checking & Savings $900 Bonus Offer

I'm not sure if this was targeted or not. It was an offer under my Marriott Chase credit card account. You get $900 cash back when you open a checking and savings account through the link. Sure the interest rates are crap...but once you get your $900 after 3 months, you can close accounts and move elsewhere. Seems like a killer deal...unless I'm missing something? https://accounts.chase.com/consum...px=PT22272

"To receive the $300 checking bonus: 1) Open a new Chase Total Checking account, which is subject to approval; AND 2) Have your direct deposit made to this account within 90 days of account opening. Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. Person to Person payments (such as Chase Quickpay® with Zelle®) are not considered a direct deposit. After you have completed all the above checking requirements, we'll deposit the bonus in your new account within 10 business days. To receive the $200 savings bonus: 1) Open a new Chase SavingsSM account, which is subject to approval; 2) Deposit a total of $15,000 or more in new money into the new savings account within 20 business days of account opening; AND 3) Maintain at least a $15,000 balance for 90 days from the date of deposit. The new money cannot be funds held by you at Chase or its affiliates. After you have completed all the above savings requirements, we'll deposit the bonus in your new account within 10 business days. To receive the extra $400 bonus: You must open the checking and savings account at the same time and complete all requirements above for BOTH the checking bonus and savings bonus. After you have completed all requirements, we will deposit the remaining bonus due in your new checking account within 10 business days."

Setup a direct deposit of $500 a month or have a balance of over $1500 to avoid fees on checking. And maintain balance of over $300 on savings to avoid fees.

I got the referral email.but it says get total 350 for both accounts not 900. What am I missing ?

Enjoy up to $350 Get $200 with a new checking account and another $150 with a new savings account with qualifying activities.
Normally, you will only get $400 to $600 bonus if you open a new saving and checking account with Chase. However, some of us got the $900 bonus offer. That's what OP and I are sharing, our special $900 bonus code. 😁😂

Can I use this $900 code if I already have Chase checking account?
No, if you already have a saving or checking with Chase, you won't qualify for any Chase bonus. It has to be new account. If you have credit cards or mortgage with Chase, you are still eligible.

Wouldn't you have to put 15K in savings, and 15K in checking to get the full 900 bonus? The 200 savings bonus is straight forward. The extra $400 bonus says "open the checking and savings account at the same time and complete all requirements above for BOTH the checking bonus and savings bonus." So would need to park 30K total and a direct deposit for the full $900 bonus, or am I the only one reading it that way?
You only need $15,000 in your Savings. Another $1500 in your checking to avoid monthly service charge. A direct deposit to your checking account within 90 days.

Hi all, I am confused about my situation if someone could clarify for me.

I currently have a Chase Sapphire Reserve card and an online account.

When I apply for this with the coupon code it tells me "invalid coupon code" after the website asks me "are you currently a chase customer?"

However, if I select "no, not a current customer" I can get to the next screen.

Am I considered a current customer if all i have is a CSR? I have never had a checking / savings or any other type of account with Chase.

If I went through the process opening the checking / savings by saying I am not a customer, how would I link my accounts to my online login?

Choose Yes, then it will prompt you to log into your online account, even tho you only have CC with them. You just have to be a new CHECKING/SAVING account holder, so its fine.

Can anyone confirm that we need to keep the accounts for 6 months to avoid having the bonus deducted?

This is from the term and conditions, footnote #2

2 Account Closing: If either the checking or savings account is closed by the customer or Chase within six months after opening, we will deduct the bonus amount for that account at closing.
That's interesting. That means the opportunity cost for tying up money in these accounts is closer to $150 assuming you can get around 2% elsewhere. (before taxes)

You don't need to keep 15k in the account all the time, once the bonus posts the balance can be lowered to 300 to avoid monthly fee.

Actually I think the terms said you need to keep the $15k in savings for 90 days to not lose the bonus.

So you'd lose a whopping $75 in interest lost in a 2% savings account for 90 days. I think jumping through the hoops for $900 is a way better deal!

I've caught up on PM's and peeps putting up emails in this thread. I would recommend PM for sending your emails instead of posting here...unless you want the world to have your email address!

Actually, you should read what I wrote Smilie Once the bonus posts they're no requirements besides keeping the accounts for a total of 6+ months. I have done Chase bonuses myself as well as helped others, speaking from experience.

Yeah, which is 90 days before you'll receive the savings bonus according to the terms. I was just trying to clarify.

"To receive the $200 savings bonus: 1) Open a new Chase SavingsSM account, which is subject to approval; 2) Deposit a total of $15,000 or more in new money into the new savings account within 20 business days of account opening; AND 3) Maintain at least a $15,000 balance for 90 days from the date of deposit."
