I'm not sure if this was targeted or not. It was an offer under my Marriott Chase credit card account. You get $900 cash back when you open a checking and savings account through the link. Sure the interest rates are crap...but once you get your $900 after 3 months, you can close accounts and move elsewhere. Seems like a killer deal...unless I'm missing something?

Another point of interest--the check cleared my other bank but Chase still held it several days after it had cleared my bank. I think they said they do that in case someone changes their mind or some dumb reason. In the end it makes no difference because the date stamp was the date of deposit. So don't panic if you see your 15K on hold--it will get released.
Also if your doing these to make the $$$ don't put your spouse's name on the account---it will allow you to open up another one in their name later. I doubt we will see the $900 again but there should be a $600 one as that was very common.
As said by many--you don't have to worry about fees as long as the 15K is in the account---it's after you move the 15K out and into a higher interest bearing account that you will have to figure out how to keep the accounts FEE free. I still have my direct deposit going into checking account and for the ease of things, I just left $300 in the checking account---this is for the final 3 months--accounts need to be left open for 6 months so the first 3 are easy then you have to get creative and figure it out.
So this is what I read from the reddit....seems like you can refer this to others without affecting your own. If this is the case, would you send me a referral pls? [email protected]
Much appreciated!
