SlickdealsForumsDeal TalkPit Boss 700SC Pellet Grill Smoker + $100 Gift Card for $399 at Academy Sports or 820D2 for $449 or CopperHead Vertical for $299
These pellet grills are no bueno. Don't hold temp well if you're going cheap wait for camp chef deals
That's not what the vast majority of reviews claim. I read that on some reviews but on most of these they are overwhelmingly positive.
And at this price, you could even upgrade controller to PID and gain wifi and come out way ahead still.

I have the Pit Boss 820D2 and it's been great (got it at Lowe's for $250).. Never had a problem with the temp. I did have a problem with the cheap power cable it came with (main prong ripped off). I emailed support and got a new cable within a few days that was stronger than the original one. Yes I had to do the install myself, but it only took about half an hour and I was back smoking in no time. This smoker does require you do cleaning about every other time your smoke to free up the burner, but it only takes a few minutes with compressed air.
P.S. buy the pellets at your local Costco for even better savings

Do you have any recs on a PID to upgrade a pitboss?
Love my Pit Boss 700fb. Had for about a year and a half and I used it almost daily. Rain is stopping me these days.
i was out in the rain under my patio umbrella making burgers yesterday.... grilling/smoking; this thing is THE BEST! honestly it is the first pellet grill i have had but i have zero complaints. totally replaced my other grills.
someone else said you need to clean it every other time? mine does not get cleaned frequently at all (i am guessing at least 30-40 cooks since i last cleaned it). the burn cover does get gross with drippings but it barely makes any ash so you can go a long time between cleanings with it running just fine in my experience.

I have the 700 as well. It hold temps just fine. I was looking for a "better" one two years ago when I got this one for 200. Couldn't pass that up and I've been happy with it.
I was taking it apart to clean it regularly like the manual said at first but it was never very dirty. I cleaned it once in the summer and I went through 3 bags of pellets.

We've had one for a couple years and it's been excellent. Holds temp just fine.

RecTec or Green Mountain Grills

I don't think the cost is worth it, the pid controller replacements are expensive and this works just fine for the money.
I will say, these prices aren't great, especially with shipping.

If you're in the market, this is a great deal for these versions when you consider the $100 gc to spend on pellets
Yes once a year on clearance, regionally
