My kids bought it at $45 with GC money 6 months ago so probably was only $70 when it first came out. These sets were all great but horribly overpriced. Already cleaned up in August on clearance. None of these prices are lower and the 20% coupon doesn't apply to LEGOs. Good deal anyway for a few select sets.

You had to spend $50 last week to get the coupon. Don't fret over it though, it's probably one of the most useless coupons I've ever seen from Target. It excludes everything that you'd want to buy except (so far) Beats headphones.
I believe the slickdeals rubric is $.05/piece for most LEGO sets. You can add a little premium if there's special pieces/themes but too much over that and you're paying the LEGO tax.

I agree with that. I avoid paying more than 5 cents per piece unless there's something extra special about it.

Not all but yeah agree with you about this one. Some lego are overpriced because of their context like xmas specials and friends set
