After reading some of these comments, I feel obligated to say the following:

120VAC can kill. Many people get stung by it routinely and it doesn't bother them the slightest. Others die. Don't be an idiot. If you are taking instructions on how to perform electrical work by reading SD comments, you should hire a professional.

I am an engineer, I design and work on high voltage equipment. I am familiar with what IEC considers to be "typical" for impedance through the human body (hand-hand, hand-foot, hand-seat, wet and dry). The range spans orders of magnitude. Just because JoeBob did it and didn't die, doesn't mean the same applies to you.

These are nice screwdrivers. But you don't buy safety glasses so that you can fire a nail gun at your face.

Can you? Yes, I've done it dozens of times with these screwdrivers. GFI switches buzz when disturbing their connections so kill power for those. Now I should be clear it is in no way safe to do. Power being off is to save the circuitry as well as your life. Only work one-handed so there's no potential current path through your heart, and keep in mind only the screwdrivers are insulated and not the pliers to move the wires around. If you beat up the insulation on the shaft, it will no longer have the full rated voltage protection. Oh, and keep pets and family members clear of you in case you do get a zap so it won't transfer through them.

Purchased these last year. Excellent screwdrivers. Highly recommend for all your electrical needs. I did get them for $24 and change but at this price it still wouldn't stop me from getting them. You want a high quality set, these are the ones to get.

I'm an electrician and have been using these every day for the last 18 months and they definitely hold up.

They need to offer these in a case or pouch.

They do offer an insulated pouch version. There's one handle, and several insulated blades.

I should probably buy these. Already shocked myself 3 times since moving into this house. Who knew smoke detectors ran on 120v AC? Mostly I just need to get the idea out of my head that I can work on hot circuits.

EDIT: Purchased. I should have expensed these even though I'm a "software" guy.

I don't think they're laser-tip, though.
