I bit on these last time from Amazon and the one I got was clearly a used return. I sent it back. Not saying they are all that way, but beware.

If you purchased directly from Amazon (like this deal, not a 3rd party or Amazon warehouse) that would be extremely unlikely. Not saying it did not happen...but the way Amazon works getting something that is not new 1st quality is very rare.

NOTE: be SURE you buy directly from Amazon. I see another seller (Surrealdeal) has the Buy-Box for me right now at $89.13 on some colors. Use the drop down box to choose Amazon as the seller for the best chance to get something totally new.

Amazon's new page layout makes it harder to see who you are actually buying from.

Warning these headphones are very tight around your ears and will cause them to hurt after a few minutes. If you plan on buying them you should factor in that you might want to buy the bigger earpads down the line.

Agree with this post. The upgraded memory foam pads are a must have. I wore these on long flights for a couple of years. I upgraded after the first flight and it was a much better experience.

Also, these are a fair bit heavier than the mostly plastic alternatives. I liked that at first but it's a trade off that you start to nice after a few hours. There's no noise isolation or cancelling either. The sound is quite good though and the battery life was as advertised. The custom plates are pretty awesome too.

I'm back to the Bose QC II now but they are 2.5x the price on a good day, so not apples to apples.

I bought the red ones and they arrived today. They sounded OK at first but after a day of listening to them, they really opened up and now they're one of the most fun sounding headphones I own. Not accurate at all, but very *fun*. Meaning good amount of bass and mostly clear vocals. Great so far for movies/TV and music. They're not bad for gaming either, but the soundstage is very small compared to my HD 598s. I also bought a Boompro mic and the other guys in my Destiny clan said I sounded clearer than ever before (was using a hyperx Cloud before this).

Burn in is not a thing. I won't convince you with that simple sentence so either put your ego aside and read about it or don't... you won't convince me science doesn't exist anymore.
