Creative Labs Sound Blaster AE-7 Sound Card $199.99 @ Amazon

I know, sound cards have become a very niche product and discounts are rare, but I need one and have been waiting for a deal. Amazon just lowered the price on the recently released Sound Blaster AE-7 from $218.44 to $199.99. I know it ain't no $.05 daily XBox Gamer Pass deal, but it's something.

The older AE-5 is also on sale for $119 (black) or $129 (white).

I know that Realtek's onboard Sound Cards typically suck in terms of sound quality and it has alot of EMI interference, but is 200$ really worth it for slightly improved sound? The 120$ one looks tempting, but I need an audiophile to tell me whether or not buying an internal soundcard is worth using over the motherboard's onboard Realtek one.

Soundcards have problem on PCIE Express 4.0 motherboards as Creative Labs state that if you use an NVME SSD on a pcie expresss 4.0 slot, this soundcard will generate EMI Interference, so it looks like I'll pass since I use an NVME SSD.

Dead. Target price for the black AE-5 is $99. That's what I payed at newegg when I checked. Now tax so... Good days are over.

I did get my 9900ks at B&H tax free last year. Now they charge tax too.
