EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

Someone said if better refuses to pricematch, you get 1k. Is this true?
I'm in the process of getting the 1K check. I closed on a refinance last week. The better.com rep said they could not match my loan estimate from another lender, which was 3.25% and 1K lender credit, 30 yr fixed. Once you close with the other lender, you just need to send better.com the final closing loan disclosure and mortgage note, showing the terms did not change from the initial estimate you provided them. I e-mailed these documents to the better.com rep yesterday, and received an e-mail today from the rep saying that application has been approved, and a check will be mailed out to me.

Assuming I get the check, the process has actually been incredibly smooth. I'm guessing it has a lot to do with the specific rep you have been assigned to.

I'd imagine pipelines are super overwhelmed with all these refis. They probably temporarily prop up rates and if someone bites, they make even more. No one is hurting for business right now.
I sense another refi bubble happening.

My final closing disclosing from Better came in and because of some screw ups on the total loan payoff amount, there is a cash TO borrower of over $3k. Does it make sense to adjust the loan amount to get this as to $0 as possible?

It doesn't seem right to me to have an inflated total loan amount so I can end up with cash in pocket, right?

Same thing happened to me.
They inflated the prepaids so the cash back to me was like over 4 or 5k and the max they give back is $2k so i told them to send me a check for 2 k and the rest take it off the loan amount.

Haven't decided if i'm putting the 2k back into the loan or just keeping it. Prob just keep it

Well turns out they got back to me and said what you said, $2k is the limit so the loan will need to be re-worked and re-balanced since I was over the limit.

Same thing for me. I used the extra towards total principal. The final loan amount is always high because they reach out to bank as the final step to get the payoff. Payoff amount is always higher than the loan amount which will be your new loan amount.

I closed on 2/11. but the rates have been going down since, was wondering if anyone knows how soon I can refinance again? Not getting response from Loan officer I was working with.

Find someone else to refi cuz the first one is going to lose its commission.

Who did you get 3.25% and 1k credit with? Is that a 15 yr note or 30 yr note?

Thanks...this answers my other question...did you use the link posted on the first post and then logged into your AMEX?
No. Link was better.com/<amex> link that the Better.com agent sent. He asked me to apply from there.

No time limits with refi? Don't have to wait 6 months or anything like that?
I don't believe any such rules exist. At least I have not seen. Will see who is stopping me.

Purchase my house in December with 3.875 on 635k loan. Refi and closed in 2/24/2020 with 3.375. Granted it was with different lender, but I didn't have to wait 6 month to refi.

Any one getting better than 3.2 APR for $30 yr fixed? I am planning to refinance and was just wondering where to look for rates for PM.

I went to sofi and they were offering 3% 30 year fixed with 1k credit back. I just refi with better so I'm not sure if I will do it again.
