Notary and closing
Here is what you can expect or ask for from my experience:
1. New pen for signing wiped thoroughly
2. Pen stays with you after signing
3. Only material they will touch would be your ID
4. ID would be wiped and returned back
5. Can expect gloves to be worn
6. Signing can happen in your front yard or in your garage
7. If you have a Costco table then you can sit on either sides to maintain distancing
8. Masks might be recommended given new guidelines
9. Plus discuss with the notary!!

initial estimate he provided was no cost, zero points 2.875 on a 301k loan..however he was rolling in the closing costs to $308k (7k in closing costs, $301k payoff on existing loan) , 3.625 is what he offered for lender paid credit to cover closing.
running #'s saving much more (monthly & overall interest payout) by going with the lower rate
My current lender said the rates for a jumbo where I live have ballooned to 4.75%.
Hopefully rates go down again, and hopefully Better can come up for air and actually return phone calls and emails. Annoying when stuff like this happens . . .
Anyone were able to get quote from Rocket without providing and denting your credit?
Same here... we have DW's credit locked for other reasons and I'd rather not go through a rigmarole to unlock it
Better is not in my state so I have to go through Rocket.

So... I would say you are right in terms of thinking but you better have a nice portfolio to present if this keeps going the way it is going. Even with the current drop, lenders still aren't at any time of panic mode yet.

How did you get the offer from Better.com? I got the similar 3.8% rate when I applied (pre-approval for refinance) online.....my current rate is lower that better.com!!
I closed 2 weeks ago with $2000 credit (left over after close) and $2500 Amex credit. So already $4500 free money and with your contact I will refi at no cost. Thank you so much
