I work with Better,com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.

No float that I know of but they just sent me the closing disclosure and it went down to $1110 for the section "A" fee instead of 1900. Plus another $994 for sections "B + C" and then section D is $395. So now I will net even more savings. Kudos to them for having a lower number as rates did fall for a 15 year, 2.875%. So now I wont be out any money after the 2500.

before the spike I was able to lock 2.875 30yr 0 points with 3200 closing costs
they actually have an app that allows you to process your application, got a call back next day with rates and locked in, paper work followed same day now just waiting..they are all busy at the moment.

Better wasn't able to come close to rates I was getting elsewhere. They said the absolute lowest they can offer is 3% on a 15 year right now.

To their credit, they said they would give me $1,000 if I closed under those terms with another lender, but then I do not get the $2,500 AmEx credit, so that's probably a dead-end for me.
