EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

Planning to close very soon. Better has given wire transfer instructions. Do i need to wire the fund from Amex credit card to be eligible for $2500? Thanks for your response.

Your closing costs should come from a bank account that you provided statements for during the loan application process

Well, looked into this offer as I'm eligible on the Amex card. Apparently I missed the low rates from 2-3 weeks ago. Went on a cruise for a week and the world went to hell! Came home Sunday and just got around to submitting my app. I was just looking to save on some interest over the next 6 years while I pile on the payments and pay the mortgage off. I owe $113k on a 30-year fixed at 3.825% APR, and wanted to cash out $42k to payoff an 8% pool loan and combine them. Lowest rate offered was an FHA 3.125/3.94 APR with buy down, costs and fees I'd have to put $9k out of pocket to save $4k in interest over the next 6 years.

I know, but not worth my time to fill everything out.
The rep was able to bring down the points after pulling my credit. He said based on scores he could bring it down more than what was offered originally.

I closed on Tuesday and happy with the rate and experience. I was able to complete 95% of all the tasks from my phone. I am very happy with them overall.

We delayed our appraisal until mid-April, our rate is locked until May 1st. I nabbed a 3.375% on a 30y fixed in NJ.

Not everyone requires an appraisal.

Yeah definitely don't want to refi to get an FHA loan. Rates are a little high right now... Rates should dip in about 3-5 weeks. They're inflated unfortunately with the demand.

Hey I am just starting the closing process. Do you know at what step you enter the Amex details of your amex card so that I get the $2500 credit?

I think after you choose a closing date, there is a task that asks for the last 4 digits of the amex card you want to use to apple the credit.
