EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

Please some one explain how we get 2.50 rate for 15 years
Large conforming mortgage and zip code. For me, if my mortgage was over $200k, the offered rate would be about 0.5% less than what I was initially offered. Either way, it doesn't matter if you are having them compete with another lender. Just note that for many lenders, it is common that larger mortgages get better rates. I consistently saw that if I fudged the numbers on the estimates on websites for financing $150k, $200k, $300k, $400k, etc. Thankfully, some lenders don't seem to follow that mentality and those are who I used for Better to compete with.

Wow. Yours moved lightning quick. My rate lock and conditionally approved was days before you and my closing ended up being the same day. I'm anxiously logging into my old lender ever 15 minutes waiting to eventually see it is paid off. Did you get the confirmation email about the credit yet? Earlier in this thread, someone said he got it from his loan officer the day after funding.
No official email for me. Got funded last week. I asked them about it last week and they said could take 5-7weeks.

I did my amex task before the closing. I guess we will see. I havent seen anyone here reported that they didnt get it? Its just a matter of how long

I've seen reports from people saying they didn't get it, but so far, it seemed to be people complaining at 4-5 weeks (which they could have simply gotten it a few weeks later), or the name/email not matching what Amex has, which likely would involve getting in touch with Amex and Better to resolve the discrepancy. I have no doubt the credit will happen, but it's still unnerving as Better didn't beat my competing offer -- it was the Amex offer that decided to stick with Better vs. the local CU.

That said, I did email all four people on my "team" and got the following:

Hi CycloneFW,

No further action needed. You should see the credit reflect on your account in 8-10 weeks after funding 5/18.

If you don't see it by 6/27, feel free to reach out to AMEX. Thanks!

Super random but just wondering if anyone has refied while on forebearance. I took forebearance and have been saving my payments aside(I can pay but want to get the option for a loan mod to move the payments to end of the loan).

I have "missed" one payment and have 2 to go.

Until guidance changes, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae backed-mortgages cannot be underwritten for a person that has a forbearance in the past twelve months. Better being a direct lender that will sell your loan to an investor, underwrites to Freddie and Fannie standards. So today, they wouldn't be able to lend to you until 12 months after your forbearance lifts.

Due note, that is today w/o new guidance using rules Freddie and Fannie had in place prior to the CARES Act. Things may change as many are complaining about this provision.

Is the form to file for the $1000 price match from Better a generic form that someone can post? Or does the rep dealing with you have to send a specific form for each case?

I too am now being told that I don't qualify for the $1000 guarantee because he says I didn't send the proper form in the first place. His last reply to me was that he could not match the current offer that I presented. He didn't even try to beat it by $1000 like the guarantee states.

See https://better.com/faq/better-gua...fine-print and see if you meet the terms. The key here is how soon you got the Loan Estimate to them when asking them to beat the offer, and actually closing with the lender using the same loan terms outlined in the Loan Estimate. If, for instance, you decided to buy a point that wasn't reflected on the LE sent to better, you won't qualify.

Thanks for that, so seems like I should be able to just make the one payment I have missed and I should be good.

Can someone personally confirm that they were able to do another rate match after locking rate? Match only, not beating by $1000.

I sent an offer to them the same day that I got it from the other lender. He responded saying he could not match so that's the offer I went with and recently closed. But now he's telling me that I don't qualify because what I submitted to him was not a CFPB or something even though it was a PDF that the lender sent to me which I passed on to him

Went the LenderFi route to get an estimate, now getting a 30yr 3.125% with $200 in credits from better.com. Unreal deal. I have a condo so my rates are a little higher everywhere than some of the lowest shared here but I cant complain about this. All in all after the credits and not counting prepaid taxes/insurance, i'll pay about 1800 in closing costs. After the 2500 statement credit i'm making $700 to drop from 4.375 to 3.125.

So who do I contact to make sure I'm eligible with my everyday blue card. Not showing on my offers page

I click the link in the OP, it then takes me to the better.com amex page where it has me look up my address.
I enter my information and it says I already have an account since I refinanced with them about 9 to 10 months ago. I log in and nothing else shows up other than my account referring to Amex.

Who do I call to verify Amex or better? I don't want to find out after closing that I'm not eligible

I have a blue card and AMEX confirmed I am eligible so does Better. I called the number on the back of my card and inquired about this offer. They had to transfer me to a special team which confirmed. You should be good per my discussion with Amex. I will let you validate
