EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

I'm in Texas.

I went with First Mortgage Direct, who I found on bankrate.com. That was the lowest rate at the time.

I just checked and they're actually showing 2.875% with no points right now. Damn! I should have waited.
How do you check their rates? Do you have to apply first?

For those looking for title company, after shopping around, I found https://www.firstintegritytitle.com/ to be about 25% cheaper than Better relative to my costs in B. I advised Better to use these guys.

There is a possibility they could match or best B costs as well. Per the communication, it sounds like they would like to try on mine. Let's see if they will end up beating or matching them. It may be little late as Better has my title report already which is under review.

For others, I suggest to shop around instead of taking it for granted.

anyone got 2.375 15 year fixed matched at Better.com? I saw couple small locals offering this rate this week with small < $300 fee. Since better is advertising 2.875, wondering if they will come down an entire 0.5%?

Worth a shot. If I were you I would get an LE from those small local lenders you mentioned and take that to Better. If they can't beat it, they will give you $1,000.

Does the point/pricing should be 0 to price match with better?

A lot of people have in the last 50+ pages of comments
Yeah, I read all 182 pages and have been following. I have read that there might be a 6 month limit, but I dont think I found it in my loan. Also, people said that they would but just wondering if anyone actually did and got the AMEX credit again. I dont think anyone mentioned it if they did get the credit again. I know we have until July, but wondering if others received their 2nd credit. Thanks in advance.

Just to confirm, were you locked before and then you got them to match new rate and remained locked at new rate?
I was locked at 3.25 before. Had them change it to 3.0 and signing off today with notary. Should be funded by Monday.

No doesnt need to be. If there is lender credit, they will have lender credit, If there is points they will have points when they match.

How did you do that? Did you get another LE from another company? or did you use their float down? They said float down is half the benefit. 0.125% reduction for each quarter.

Got quote from another LE and sent it to better.com for the match. They couldn't beat it but matched it. $1500 CC (mostly for interest) + 2500 CB from Amex.

Lender is offering 2.75% for 20 years for a refinance. They said they can't generate a loan estimate (which I'll give to better) until I lock in the rate. are there costs commitments to locking in a rate?
