EDIT information from Better.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello,
I work with Better, com and wanted to see if you could please add in the following information to your post on Amex/Better,com deal as it reads incorrect as it stands, especially regarding eligibility. We want to make sure the offer is stated as accurately as possible:
1) Mortgage rates of any specific customer, stated or otherwise, should not be taken as indicative of a mortgage rate available to all customers. Pricing is based on a number of factors, including the individual credit profile of a potential borrower.
2) The offer is only available to those borrowers who have been marketed to directly by American Express, and those who have not received the offer on their Amex portal or via email are not eligible.

Forebearance is a protection done by banks/government to temporarily pause payments to your mortgage and no credit reporting either of late payment. Basically all mortgage companies were doing these at the start of COVID. You could stop paying your mortgage for a certain amount of time and then its all due at the end of that time period.

Now Foreberance is seen as a bad thing because likely hood you lost your job or something. You are not allowed to Refi a mortgage until 12 months have passed after a forebearance. But they have made it more flexible lately and Better.com allowed me to refi anyway since I did not miss any payments.
Rules relaxed due to COVID

I know that and It was in my message too. But even though this is the case Lenderfi dropped me as a potential customer as soon as I mentioned Forebearance and showed him proof of eased regulations. They just withdrew my application.

I had to provide my credit card payment for the appraisal and rate lock. Once thru underwriting, determination was that appraisal was not needed. Just completed a task to acknowledge an appraisal refund.
This happened to me too. Its been 5 weeks since I got a task to acknowledge the appraisal fee will be refunded since I got an appraisal waiver and no refund yet. I already closed a month ago too. =/

So when I closed the title when I first purchased my house, I went to a law firm to do it. For a refi with Better, do I need to do it physically or can you do it digitally? I'm asking because I'm traveling in the next few weeks and was hoping to do it digitally.

If not, can you schedule the closing signing date in a different location than where the house is?

No, a notary on behalf of the settlement company can come to your house (or anywhere else you choose) to sign all the paper work - takes about an hour.

Got an offer from a UWM broker at 2.875% no fees or credits. I'm really waiting for 2.75% to match to better.

Depends on the title company and how they allow. Before mine had to be cancelled in last minute in NJ we were going to do the closing via a Zoom meeting where notary would witness us physically signing the documents via video then sending them immediately to their office in PA via Fedex.

For those that have received the Amex credit, other than submitting the the last 5 of you Amex CC before closing are there any other confirmations that the credit will post? Any emails from Amex, Better? I have two loans closing this week with one funding today. I emailed the closing agent about the Amex credit and waiting for a response from him.
