My son loves this. Unfortunately the pieces have very sharp edges with no rounding or beveling. Some of them have a knife-like plastic burr. He cut himself badly playing this set. I am going to return and get another brand.
The 100 piece Tytan Tiles at Sams are still $30 and highly rated.

The set in the OP includes 18 "clickins" which provide zero value compared to magnetic pieces.

The Sams set also comes with a car, which is a nice ad-on.
Unpopular opinion, I'm sure, but as a (relatively cheap) father, here it is anyway: get the Magnatiles, despite the high prices. They are just so superior to the others, the magnets are much stronger, and they are super sturdy and last years — and you and your kids will use them for years.

We want to get some for our 2 year old for Xmas. Can we mix and match brands down the road or do we need to stick to 1 manufacturer?

TIA

Best deal I have seen so far for a non "knock off" set. Do yourself a favor and buy a brand name for the safety of your child.

I see 0 blocks in this set. Did we redefine the definition of a block recently?
