Probably my favorite book series. Mature Urban fantasy is a good description of its genre. If you've never heard of the Dresden Files and are just coming across this deal, it's a 15 book, in progress series about a wizard in modern Chicago.

This is a collection of short stories about Dresden, in universe. If you haven't read them, start with storm front! I figure it's worth mentioning since a FP deal could find some who haven't heard of the series before.

Can I start with this before reading any of the other books in the series? If not, can I read Storm Front and then this? Or do I need to read all 15 books before I pick this one up?

Dammit, I bought this at regular price 2 weeks ago and I'm still reading it. You're welcome everyone.

Dresden is awesome though, I highly recommend the series. This book is a bunch of short stories set at various time points around the main books.

I'm sure the story is good, but can anyone comment on the author's prose? I tend to have trouble sticking with books if the writing is less refined.

It's been a while since I've read any of the books, but I'd say he's about a B+. Nothing distracting and fairly witty.

My favorite book series. The audio versions are wonderful. James Martsers reads them well. I am currently going through the series again as the latest book in the series is now at the publisher hopefully releasing soon.

Love the Marsters reading. Do note that he DOES start out rough in maybe the first few books (the same goes for the series itself). His reading (and the series) gets much better and the series is definitely worth checking out.

Highly recommended for any fans of urban fantasy. Hell, even if you're not.
