Just picked one of these up through my Shop Samsung smartphone app, but pricing is the same on Samsung.com, so I would expect this to work when ordering from there as well. If the website doesn't work, I can confirm this works from the app. The vacuum is currently priced at $279, which is supposedly 40+% off (which is dubious), but I located coupon code J4PEGQYPH for an additional $50 off, bringing the price down to $229, plus tax. Shipping is free. My final total was $245.60.

I currently own a Roborock S4 and S5, and am a bit obsessed about robot vacs...having done a TON of research. This seems to be a well-reviewed vacuum, particularly one that uses intelligent camera-based mapping. From the demos I've seen, the nav is not as efficient as LIDAR-based bots like the Roborock and Neato offerings, but from what I have read, the software updates have gone a long way in making this a viable cleaning bot. I will be returning a Roomba 675 I bought as a Christmas gift, which is a dumb-nav, bump-n-go robot, and replacing it with this. This bot should be much more effective at cleaning my dad's house than the Roomba as it has more power, and will make sure it vacuums all areas that a bump-n-go vacuum could miss. I paid $200 for the 675, which has now gone up to $250 post-Black Friday, so this Samsung is actually cheaper than the entry-level Roomba.

As far as reviews go, I have seen folks complain about battery failures and some internal gears becoming damaged, but I think all vacuums can have issues...even the wildly popular Roborocks have had LIDAR issues, but this info still worth considering. Warranty is 1 year. Best Buy, Amazon, and Samsung.com reviews are all at right around 4 out of 5 stars,

Vacuum Wars on YouTube indicates that this is one of the best vacuums in the budget category, so don't expect this to be the same league as some higher-spec'd options. When looking at robots currently in the sub-$250 category, they seem to like it: https://youtu.be/g4qx6SY_Mig

My god...I like Samsung and all, but how many more times does this absolute FAILURE of a product have to make frontpage?

EVERY SINGLE TIME it's posted there are dozens of negative comments and just a few positive ones.
For a site that relies on positive "member" comments for income, this speaks volumes.

Thanks OP! Do you think this is better than s4 ? I honestly never really considered a Samsung robot vacuum before. But this thing looks great.

Thanks for the write-up, I'm really tempted to replace the deebot n79s I got for my parents as this one looks to be more powerful and more slick.

I believe Chase business cards have the 20% cashback offer from samsung.com to make the deal even sweeter.

Hard to say. The brush roll on the Samsung is MUCH wider than the S4 so I suspect that while the S4 will almost certainly navigate more efficiently, the wider brush roll might make for fewer passes, thereby equalizing time to clean.

Airflow on the Samsung is at 9 cfm on low power and 11cfm on high, whereas the S4 runs anywhere from 9-19cfm, so the S4 is definitely more powerful and can move more air. If you have the budget for a S4 at about $350, I would probably go with that. Both of my Roborocks have been bulletproof. Vacuum Wars has a review on the current version of the S4 and they LOVE it.

Uses a camera that stares at the ceiling to plot position, just like the higher spec'd Roombas.

oh, garbage then? why dont they just use lidar?
Good question, but I would assume cost. I would bet the LIDAR units cost quite a bit more than a low-to-mid range resolution camera would. I wouldn't say they are garbage...they work reasonably well, but I prefer the LIDAR and you can't use camera-based bots in the dark, which might be an issue if you run it at night (which I have never needed to do personally).

The higher end Roombas can integrate with smart home automations. You can set your Lutron Caseta lights to come on when the Roombas start their nighttime run.
