I read into it in the past. Basically unless the medicine is scored to be split, there is no guarantee that the active ingredient is evenly distributed. These are not scored, so there is a chance that one half has all of the medicine in it.
Petbucket.com is way cheaper. I've had successful results from PB for 2 years now
I did this earlier and chose autoship to save some cash and was able to apply the code CHEWYRX for $15 off additionally.

The price is the same between the 24-60lb and 61-120lb, with the larger having 2x the active ingredient.

Just curious if one can save 2x by pill cutting a 61-120lb one for use over 2 dosages for a 24-60lb dog? Or if there is a safety/medical reason these cannot be split and spread out over 2 months.

I'm not sure, however I wouldn't even try that. For one, these pills typically expire within nine months to a year. -Yes, you can use expired pills etc, but honestly I wouldn't risk it on my dog and especially cutting the pills either..
check out Simparica for flea & tick.. might be less expensive.
-no I'm not a vet, just from my experience etc.

The way heartworm medicine is typically made is its blended all together and formed into tablets. There shouldn't be a difference between two halves.

I do this for my dogs (65lbs and 9lbs) and they remain flea/heart worm free. I just split one tablet between them instead of buying two (using a scale to mass out the correct proportions). No vet will officially endorse this, but if you google you'll find this practice isn't uncommon.

My vet had me divide one dose for an extra large dog into three and give those to my 24lb dog to save money. It has worked for years.

I never did figure out why they named their website "Chewy". Dogs do chew stuff, so you could name them that I guess. But I wouldnt call my cat scratchy.

It doesn't allow for 10.1 - 24lbs for NexGard 😔

Edit: disregard, didn't see you need to change to 6 pack

Just looking at Heartgard plus, 2x6 packs came to $51 after 15% and 5% autoship discount. Petbucket is $53 with autoship discount
