Simple Mobile Truly Unlimited Exclusive Plan on Amazon - $50

I was searching for a replacement Simple Mobile BYOP SIM and this item came up in my feed. It seems that Simple Mobile launched, or is launching a unique plan with Amazon for Prime Members which is very similar to their regular $50 Plan but with extra incentives.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YZW61LK

On a high level, this plan is $50 All-In including Taxes & Fees ($4 savings in my state) and I get 10% cash back every month (another $5 savings). I tried to buy 2 but it seems to be limited to 1 per Prime Account.

$50 Plan
-$4 Tax Savings
-$5 10% Cash Back every month
-$2.50 5% provided by Amazon Credit Card
= $38.50-$41 Final Price

In comparison, on Simplemobile.com you pay $50 + Taxes & Fees

Benefits
- Unlimited Talk, Text, Data
- Truly Unlimited Data (no throttle to watch Prime Videos, Netflix, Music, etc)
- 4G LTE or 5G (if you have a 5G device - check SM.com for details)
- Amazon Customer service and billing vs having to deal with Simple Mobile (Tracfone)

Now that's interesting, thanks for info. Too bad I have Tracfones paid up for 3 years thanks to the eBay deal.

to be fair you aren't really saving an additional $4 because of tax, you just aren't paying it. Otherwise your calculation above should be $54 - $4 tax. Still, a great deal, just wanted to point that out!

So this is attractive if you use more than 12GB/month since Mint is otherwise much cheaper?

It says prepaid so I'm guessing it's also good for visitors?

I'll wait for the Really Truly Unlimited. Skeptical that 'Truly Unlimited' is truly unlimited. Streaming speeds are limited to DVD quality instead of HD.

Stay away from simple mobile. Porting-out was a nightmare and customer service was extremely unhelpful. Service was terrible, I experienced dropped calls and no service in some areas where my other Tmobile line had 3 bars of signal. It was a nightmare to port-out, their automated system would not release my number to port-out. I would never get simple even if it was free.

I've been with SM for almost three years here in Los Angeles and it's it's been a good experience. I pay $45 a month flat with 5GB of hotspot. I have the $50 plan and with the auto pay option you get -$5 deducted. Porting my number was easy. I called customer service and they helped me. SM is an undercarrier of T Mobile. This isn't a deal; it's their regular. price.

It says in the details that it streams in up to 480p. Where did you see that it said no throttling when watching vids?

480p is what everyone uses when it comes to video streaming. 480p now a days is universal even with the postpaid guys unless you pay extra for "HD Streaming".

Simple Mobile has always been known for Unlimited Data, which is why there is NO disclaimer as we're typically used to seeing. If you look at the second image, it talks about "Unlimited Data, Unlimited Possibilities" without a disclaimer of throttle.

Mint is $45 (plus taxes and fees - no cashback) outside of this December promotion. (3-MONTH RENEWAL PRICE $45/MO plus taxes and fees)

Technically, this Simple Mobile deal is cheaper by $4-$5 and has Unlimited Data.
