No way. This is not the touch bar model that regularly costs $1,800. This is the base model that retails for $1,200. I mean, it's still a decent deal, but it's not 40 percent off like I thought when I saw the title....

All 2019 MBPs come with the Touch Bar - including this one.
does it still have the keyboard issue. this thing is a pain in the ass to type on. plus apple software takes up so much hd space 128 will barely be enough

Yeah, if possible wait for the 16" Pro's new keyboard to make its way into the other Apple laptops.

It has the Gen3 butterfly - Ive had the same keyboard on my MBA and its been great for a year. Definitely an improvement over the 17 MBP.
On mine, with fresh install of Catalina and a few other apps I have 88gb free. Plenty for me as I virtually never save anything local - its either in cloud or my NAS.
Wasn't the 256gb model on sale at MicroCenter last week for this price?
That model was $1179.
I couldn't get anyone to price match so I ended up spending $1250 or so from B&H, but no tax shipped to me....so all in all, it's similar.
I like the machine - charges up really quick. I traded in my old MPB to apple for $500 (they will confirm once they receive it) and will buy AppleCare and some other stuff with that.
I really wanted 512G but I decided...and it is true...that most of the old stuff on my computer that takes up space is better to back up (old videos, etc.) and leave on another disk. This way I keep my machine itself easier to backup. So I offloaded the videos and the machine still holds 17K pictures and 300 short video clips and docs, etc. and I have 50GB to spare. So it should work out fine.

I would never buy a 128 but I think most people could deal with a 256 easily. 128 is just too tight for anyone who actually saves photos or vids.
Only if used like a chromebook...that is, virtually no local storage for photos or videos, could a 128 do the job.
